1st gear (lower) swap from 2005 to 2004--OR whole tranny?

I do not know but my guess is that neither one will work.

Does anyone have actual information? I would have the ECM from a 2005 for the swap, or ref lash my 2004. (Dealer says they'll do it).
Questions like will the A750F from a 2005 bolt up to the 1GR-FE in the 2004, or did bolt patterns change.
Then fitment, will the 5-speed fit where the 4-speed was.

You can't swap the 1st gear from the transmission because unlike a manual transmission the gears are not separate.
How Automatic Transmissions Work - HowStuffWorks
You can bolt the transmission up to the 1GR-FE, but I don't know how different the harness, ECM pins, and connectors are. You may be able to reflash the ECM (I don't remember how flexible the ECMs are in that respect as we don't do it often.) You may find that it may be cheaper to trade the vehicle in for an '05.
