1st Gen Back Seat Swap

I ran across a 85-89 4wd truck in the bone yard today that was equippend with a bench seat.
I wanted to know if this bench seat would sit in place of the rear seat in my 1986 toyota 4runner?

probably not. since 4runner's rear seats mount on hinges and rest a t 90 degree angle when the seats are down. and the bucket seat most likely mounts are underneath it. with some custom work it could though.

I had a rear seat in the truck already, so all I did was swap the seat cushions and it came out great.

If you find a trashed rear seat in a 1st gen, offer up $15 for it b/c you are only using the frames. Then buy some nicer 2nd gens (more availability) and do the swap.

It would take quite a bit of work to fit a front bench seat into the back.
