87 4runner fs/ft
girlfriend wants a 1st gen. her dad had one. she got me into mine actually. anyone near this willing to check it out if they've got the time?
I called the dude, has stock 4.10 gears. 35s look bald in the picture. He said he got 24-28 mpg, I really hope he meant 14-18 because I know that's not real. So he was either high off his ass or thought I was an idiot because know there isn't a chance in hell it got 28mpg. with 35s and stock gears.
He also then mentioned it was turboed and he has 2 turbo runners same year and needs to sell one.
I don't think he knows what he's talking about as I see no turbo emblem and that's just something important that he left out of the ad. Asked him to send a picture of the engine bay and hoping I can get that today.
Seems a little sketch to me. any input? I'm in Vancouver so driving 3 hours to see this isn't something I would enjoy doing just to find out the dude is an idiot.
Through talking on the phone he sounded as if he had a Spanish accident. I know the basics of the 22re. He said timing chain was replaced last month. really doubt that's true by what he's been telling me.
