Thanks for the good words...Man, we had such a good time, and it was great to get the rig out for some flexing...The exhaust is just a little on the loud side, but I guess it's o.k. It does tend to "wrap out" a little at about 2500rpms...
a little annoying at times and makes me think I should have used a 40 series muffler instead of the super 44 but I can live with it.

I've been averaging about 15~16mpg...worst case scenario.
If I drive all highway at 60~65mph I'm getting about 17~18mpg. Maybe even a little more depending on conditions.

So I'm happy with that. The supercharged 3.4 got about 13mpg.

A little off topic, but I was thinking on what to do with "Lexi" and I was getting all teary eyed thinking about how she so selflessly sacrificed her heart and soul to my 4.0Runner project.



I was pondering my options...As you know the Nazi over at club lexus wouldn't let me part her out over there, and at the end of the day, I still loved her so and I just couldn't stand to let her go out like that...

So, I bought this! 76 thousand mile beauty...







This should be an interesting and fulfilling trip for "Lexi" and I thought some of you guys and gals would appreciate it...

Whenever one of my friends asks me "can I use this motor in this?" Or "can these features be installed in my car" yada yada yada I always answer it as follows: "it's all just metal, plastic and glass. You can literally do ANYTHING you want. The only limiting factors are time and money."

Now, that being said, multiple kudos to you sir!! I thought my 4Reak Show was a thing of awe, and that's just child's play compared to this monstrosity (meant in a VERY good way by the way). I spent about 2 yrs preparing for my swap, gathering parts and using wrecking yard power train pieces and still spent $5K just for the swap, plus about $2.5K for S/C and 7th. 40 hrs for the well-known much easier conversion and another 20-40 for all the gremlins that come standard with such an undertaking.

Can you please share with us what your final tally was for parts and overall time for the engine/trans swap of you beautifully unique beast?

Once again, simply gorgeous.

I'm seriously considering a RHD using the supra dash and console parts...
We'll have to wait and see what the dimensions are and the firewall mods could be a chore...IDK but I am thinking about it!

Thanks for the good words...It's good to know people appreciate this kind of stuff...

I got quite a chunk in this rig now...but the engine swap was relatively inexpensive. Someone could buy a good 1uz car for ~1500.00 then if you can fab your own motor/trans mounts, brackets, etc.etc. you could get it done for probably 500.00 more. and that would just be drive shaft mods, electric fans, and miscellaneous hoses,fasteners,bits and pieces. Honestly, if you part the donor car and your 3.4 afterwards you'll make money.

I would say, it took me a solid month of weekends and good weather nites to get it running. then another couple weeks tweaking and finishing up little things.

I'll most likely be using the intake pipes, and the fan shroud...as soon as it's delivered, I'll dig into it and sell you the other parts you want for a fair price...

Honestly, I did not. Having owned the car myself for so long, I know the history and condition of the engine. As for the engine being aged, I would put this particular engine up against anything anyone is putting out today. In fact, I feel it's better at 22 years old and 200k miles (well taken care of) than many you could buy new. Honestly, it would not surprise me one bit if this engine is still running perfectly after I'm dead and gone. Everyone knows you can't kill a 1UZ!:gun4:
