Ok, I've had a couple PM's on this. So, since the last group buy went so well I am willing to do this again.

I am only facilitating, not ordering or making profit - this is all you.

Probably need at least 12 members on this to make shipping worthwhile.

I will take the lead and make payment and accept delivery and then deliver to you via USPS or meet you within a reasonable commute from Derby, Kansas

I will keep all vested members included on all to/from ABR emails once the process starts rolling.

Take a look at the website (he has a lot of gear) and make your list. I will keep one rolling post with all requested items per member. (Please no battery cables as the cost to ship is $ counterproductive.)

Popular items have been the aux battery trays, Sidewinder kit, and the type-1 Toyota switches...

Place a tentative date of May 12 (4 weeks-unless agreed to end sooner to place order) to have all requests in. You will need to pay up front for items before I place your item(s) in the final request.
Once finally gear tally has been made I will get final shipping amount and divide amount by all who have placed order.
Once final funds are received I will send order in and wire money to ABR.

Thanks for offering this Shawn, I'm a long time lurker, and this opportunity pushed me to register (as well as my upcoming build).....I'm a former 6 speed forum and current DIYMA member, with an excellent reputation. I've read your build log (and several others). I'm most interested in replicating your ARB set up (copy of a copy-ha). That said, what is your review/feedback after having it installed, anything you would recommend/ do differently? Thanks!

For the tray, shipping, and 10% discount it came out to be $186.50 (that was with approx 12 people ordering parts). The tray is high quality, matches perfectly, and heavy duty.
I would reccomend the Type 1 Toyota switches as they match perfectly yo switch locations on dash.

That's pretty steep to begin with for Battery tray that probably costs about $10-$15 in materials to make

But then...on top of that, It really cost $46.55 to ship a 3-4 lbs package to the USA????
A quick check of the USPS.com show a 20lb box to Australia is $79.95, you got to be able to fit more than 2 trays in that box.
Yes I realize that is from the USA to Australia, but I think it's at least comparable coming this direction.
I also understand there is an exchange rate difference...$1 USD = $0.95 AUD

I'm just trying to justify this.....Can someone help me understand?

I like the setup and there is little I would change.

-The Optima batteries are a great match and fit - no complaints or powering issues. I wanted to ensure I had enough juice to run my XRC10 winch without tasking out main power draw.

-The ABR gear is solid, well built, and easy to install (instructions are well laid out and easy to follow).

-The tray is heavy duty and is worth the cost (IMHO) - especially compared to the plastic tray the main battery sits on. The tray drops in to place and bolts down with supplied hardware to existing threaded holes. The instruction and gear for power reservoir relocate matches and is easy to do.

-The Sidewinder AUX battery switch is a no brainer. Easy to mount, hookup, and it does the rest (monitors voltage and switches battery power as necessary).

-The battery monitor is a nice feature and provides me with voltage on both batteries and option to switch over to AUX in case of emergency power is needed, etc.

-I did run new power cables to winch since I had to relocate winch control box. I replaced 4 gauge with 2 gauge wiring.

-I ran 00 gauge wire from main to aux battery for power. A little overkill - If I had to do over I would run 0 gauge cable. The 0 gauge, easy to work with and ring connectors are easy to come by, etc. I may repull 0 gauge to replace 00 gauge.

-I did replace the "L-Shaped" positive battery terminal on the AUX battery with an X-Scorpion battery terminal. The wires I running to L-shpae were hard to work in confined space, and I was worried about rubbing and an eventual short. The L-Shape was also hard to work with where the positive post is located on the Optima Yellow battery. The X Scorpion is a perfect fit and has multiple wire mounting locations (for different gauges). There is also a LED voltage readout, (still no sure if I am going to hookup). -I am in the process of the clean up and organization (tie wraps, wire loom, etc.). Would have been nice to run all wire first, wrap, tie, label, etc. This would have made the job easier and faster to accomplish. Of course, this is a wish as things change during install as I added, changed, and moved components as the install went along.

The shipment is not via snail mail - meaning weeks or so for delivery. The items are delivered in a week. So there is expedited shipping involved.
Granted, this is not for everyone - if the price point does not match your desire then there are many other options to work from.
I have no complaints - and that is after making the first order solo, for my own gear. I am happy and have no regrets.
I know in the past Derek Bester has been burned on international orders to the U.S. Hence the reason why he prefers not to work directly w/ U.S. via his website or eBay. (A few losers out there ruining it for the rest I suppose)
Again, from what I have gathered, no one has had regrets from their order. So, that leaves something to be said.
Ultimatley, its a personal choice/desire. To Justify? Is it necessary to purchase for the T4R? No, of course not - just one of those nice extras to have. :rockon:
