2 nipples on top of throttle body???

I have a 99 4runner limited. it has the v6, auto trans.
when i bought it it had several problems, I've been slowly addressing them but one of my things is that my throttle body has 2 little black nipped on top of it, and against the passenger firewall thing under the wind shield there are 2 metal hoses that are not connected to anything or even capped off.

my 4runner runs and drives my question is

what are these hoses for?
should i hook them up?
and if i should what hose goes to what nipple..

Nipples on throttle body intended to go to the EGR valve, which is not found on OBDII 3.4L V6 engines, i.e. all 3G 4Runners, including your '99. They were used on OBDI T100's, for example. So just leave them capped off, although you can spray cleaner and compressed air in there when you clean the TB. ('99 4Runner FSM says to do that.)

Not sure about firewall, can you give us a pic? Maybe rear heater core? Those pipes often rust out underneath and people just disconnect them and do without. Look for a short hose on your cooling circuit looping a by-pass and that will cinch it. Or if you have a rear heater that doesn't work. Just make sure it doesn't leak before you reconnect it.

I only look in the 5th gen section but the nipple talk lured me in as well. I just need a picture to be happy.

yeah, now that u mention it i do not have heat in the back, and I've been trying to identify the issue.
have you seen a write up on addressing the rear heater core/ heat issue? i have seen a lot of people just looping it and eliminating the heat "because no one sits back there" but in my case my 2 year old and new born sit there and would love some heat during those cold days.... any suggestions?

I used 3/8" copper line that was to carry heating oil. It is plastic sheathed as well.
I cut off the lines under the hood at a place where I could get a hose clamp and a piece of 3/8 flexible heater hose to make the union.

Same thing at the heater core end. Zip-tied everything in place and have had no problems so far.

have you seen a write up on addressing the rear heater core/ heat issue? i have seen a lot of people just looping it and eliminating the heat "because no one sits back there" but in my case my 2 year old and new born sit there and would love some heat during those cold days.... any suggestions?

hopefully who ever had it b4 me let the lines and didn't remove them so i can track/ follow along ice or do w.e i need to to fix the heat
