2 Questions: Power steering pump possibly leaking?? What's this intake hose go to?

I saw a good size spot of dark fluids on my driveway this morning, stuck my head under my truck and saw this..

The fluid was too dry to get any color or smell out of it. I popped the hood and the highest point of anything leaking was coming from my power steering pump.

I'm wondering if the seal has gone out on it. The fluid level still seems pretty good and I haven't noticed any obvious hardened steering or noises. I want to get on this before it becomes a bigger problem.



Also, does someone know where this line goes to on the back of the motor. I can't really tell. It comes off the intake after the stock 'silencer' and right before the throttle body. Stole a pic off the internet but added a red line to indicate the hose.

The power steering pump leaking could be at the crank of the power steering pump. There's a bearing/seal there that started to leak on mine. I have photos somewhere, but no way I'm gonna be able to find them.

Just look at the crank of the pump and you should be able to see if there is a leak.

The mystery hose connects to a nipple off the back of the drivers side valve cover in the back.

I'll have to check that out.. Thanks. I'm going to clean it all up and take it for short low speed increment drives and check to see where it's specifically leaking from. Hopefully I find the source.

Thanks, happen to know what its purpose is? Reason I ask is cus it's got some obvious sludge near the intake end. The inside of the actual intake past it is pretty gunky as well. Throttle body is a little dirty but not bad. However, I feel it should be a little cleaner since I cleaned it spotless probably a year ago.
