20% off Thule Racks - LL Bean!

Just went to the site to look for a new pair of shoes, saw they had 20% off all of their Thule Racks! It was too good to pass up on! I picked up a couple large kayaks this fall and need a way to transport them, worked out good! The one I wanted was cheaper on their site than Amazon. However, the other one I was looking at was cheaper on Amazon, but got poor reviews.

I figured anyone looking for some fun in the snow or sun could use this sale. It just started today and ends Sunday.

I went with the 835 Hull-a-Port's (2) - anyone else running these? Plan to mount them on the factory cross bars. Will just be local transport, doubt I would pass 45mph or 15 miles with them on top. I am wondering how easy it will be to load them, hopefully will not mark up the spoiler on the back (need every last bit of down-force I can get as I drive around town).

Not trying to troll but there are constant 20-25% off deals on yakima and thule online or in stores like REI or Sport Chalet, not sure if this deal is considered "too good to pass up."

I rather buy it from at a store in case the Thule parts go bad/defective you can swap out easily as Thule has limited lifetime warranty.

Hope that wasn't too Cali for you...:p

Totally, for sure! :hiding:

For those who use LL Bean you can not beat their customer service and warranties. If I buy a sandal from them and wear it out they replace it for free. Not talking about a defect, just general use.

I did take a look now though, Sport Chalet has the one I bought for full list price and REI does not even list it on their site currently.

I figured I would post what I did as the Holiday were upon us and it always helps to save money when giving a gift to make someone else smile!

Gahh... I need a roof rack for my Prius but I've spent $5500 this week. (new bike, treadmill, and Dyson)

Nice sale! I may pick up a new fairing, mine is getting on in years.

I use Hull-A-Port Pros for my sea kayaks, they work great. I'd forget about factory cross bars though, take advantage of the sale and get the Thule feet and bars. In my opinion its a much better setup.

Great, tempt me more, thanks! I had the square bar set up on my last SUV, it worked but I also had to do some mods to it to get it just right (but that was over 10 years ago). Plus it also started to rust at the ends and fall apart (great NE salty weather). If I did anything I would want to keep the nicer look and go with the 450R Rapid Crossroad, but those list out at $339 for the pair! It looks like going with that kind of set up would raise the system up a litter higher, maybe making it easier to clear the back of the 4R when loading/unloading.
