2000 4 Runner starts but dies

Unexpected fuel problem I think. Yesterday morning I went to start up my 2000 and it started ran like crap for a few seconds then died. Now this is what it does every time. Good cranking power so I know its not electrical. Any ideas on where to start?

i wonder if your fuel pump has decided to quit? i think you in the correct area of fuel issue.

Check your MAF. Make sure its plugged in all the way.

I would also hook it up to a code reader and see if there is anything in the memory.

Forgive me for being a former GM guy but is your catalytic converter clogged? Half the GM cars or trucks I owned had that problem, they'd run for 5 seconds and then die. Take a rubber mallet and go underneath your truck, give the CC a few good whacks to knock the crap loose and try to start it again.

i am having the same issue. its not every time, but its often enough to bother me and frustrate me. i usually end up turning the key to start the engine, and give it gas. i hold my foot on the gas until it comes up to temperature, and then it dies again...but i turn the key again and it stays on.
