2000 4runner 02 sensor

Hi,

I have a 2000 4 runner, V6, auto trans.

Had engine light read, code is coming up as 02 sensor.

Code is po 133--- 02 signal slow -- bank 1 sensor 1.

I have been reading up and there are tons of sensors, some for California emmissions, some not. Mine is from Canada, so I'm assuming it's not.

Anyway, anyone have a link to the exact part I need. Looking for a cheap one.

Denso 234-4162 if 2000 49-State Auto V6 Sensor 1. I would make double sure you only have one cat, though, as not many 49-state 2000's were made. They sent the Cali.'s all over the US. I also doubt any Cali's went to Canada, but better to make sure. Ain't that hard to count to one.

Dont assume its not a cali just because its never been there. Mine lived in cali about a year during its life but wasnt bought there. But its a cali version. Make sure, then find your part. Go with denso, about 60 bucks or so online.

My '99 never spent a day in Cali, it was a PA vehicle it's whole life but it had Cali emissions. I learned it the hard way when I went to replace my 02 sensor. Durkheim actually figured it out for me.

I have a 2001 3.3 auto with two cats. I ordered 294-9002. The code that it threw was p1135 (I think). Did I get the right part? Also, what size are the nuts that hold that sensor in? A 12 is too big, and I can't get an 11 on it.

Yes on the sensor. Easy, no choices for 2001 front. Nuts were born for a 12mm, but they corrode. Mini-vise-grips, or hammer an 11mm socket. I think I got mine down to 10mm before I just made them crumble. The good news is the studs are much harder than the nuts and they came through it fine, just needed some wire brushing. Did you try a 6pt 12mm socket?

Ditto that question. I couldn't get my standard 12mm socket to turn them. It was as if the socket was just a hair too big for them. Didn't have much luck getting anything else on them to take them off because the working room was limited. Borrowed a 6 point 12mm socket and got them right off. I PB Blastered the day before and again just before removing them.

I didn't put the same nuts back on and couldn't find any 12mm in stainless to fit. So I replaced with 13mm stainless nuts with stainless lock washers. Also, cleaned the studs a little and applied a liberal amount of anti-sieze before installing new nuts.

Thanks. I've only tried the 12pt wrenches that I keep in my truck. I'll bring it to my brither's where my tools are and try a 6pt or some vise-grips. Thanks for the heads up. I'll also grab some new nuts ahead of time. Any idea what size and pitch? (M8x1.5, etc.)

m8-1.25 ss or 90179-08059 at the dealer.
