Looks like it has some good SAS potential....I'd pick it up for that...maybe offer 3k and see what happens....Not 5k tho....

What the hell are you guys doing to your trucks down in NC? I saw the first few pics and was thinking "Nice, couple new bumpers, and that looks like a sweet ride"...

Yea, i said the exact same thing. There are a lot of CL scams -2002 4runner for $2450 and etc and i thought the same as this one but to my amusement, it looks legit.
I put this on the forum for the brothers to the north. Maybe they can buy this 4Runner, swap interiors and sell their old rusty's for close to this price.

Good point. Yeah, it could be a good deal for a fixer upper. I'm beginning to worry about body rust on mine. I noticed a few spots today and now I'm worried. Frame is almost completely rust free, though.

I went and looked at that exact 4 runner 2 days ago.
It has basically been ridden hard and put away wet, was in pretty rough shape for my taste.
In fact damn near ALL the 4 runners in this area (Raleigh NC) all look like they have been driven by Apes.
I am thinking the only way I am going to find a 4Runner in really nice condition is probably Carmax, but the cheapest they have in the entire country is around $13,000.
Unless you want a beater then stay away from that one.

How about this one? You could almost certainly get it for $6000, maybe less. It's not $4250 but it probably hasn't been beat up.

yeup id say so, by the looks of the dash cluster around the trip reset button, all that dirt in there... and the trashed leather and lack of carpeting and stereo ... id say someone swamped it for a few days. it would be interesting to see if any of the other electronics work like windows, mirrors door locks ect. but i do think he is asking way too high, offer him $2750 at most if your interested cause if it was swamped the first thing you will want to do is drain every bit of fluid in the thing from the windshield washer reservoir to the axles and dont forget anything along the way.

Dang, not exactly what I was looking for but very close.
If it weren't more than 1000 miles away I would definitely be interested to at least check it out.
I think I am going to have to expand my CL search to include VA/SC areas.

I'm assuming that's 180k miles.....mines got that in Kilometers....but is in 2x better shape! DAMN!
There is one in Raleigh right now that looks REALLY nice. I called about it and he basically said the carpet is a tad worn, it was smoked in, and there are a few scuffs outside. But overall it looks great. It's on Autotrader. Dark green with tan bottom. Limited. 120k.
Other than that, the 4Runner pickings in central/eastern NC have been slim lately. They're gaining popularity since gas prices are sky rocketing. Some of the teenage boys who think the only vehicle in the world is a full size domestic truck are figuring out that the 4Runner is awesome and still gets 18 MPG lol.

I think I know the one you are talking about, has 121,000 miles, 2000 Limited and at some place called TJ Auto.
That one does look nice.
Of course the one I looked at yesterday "looked nice" in the ad but jeebus when I got there the thing really wasn't even legal to drive on the street as far I was concerned.
All 4 tires were completely bald and the right front tire was badly worn on the outside so either was in a wreck or the ball joints are about to go.
In the ad it said $6950 and the lot it said $7990 and honestly I would not have paid $2500 for it. The thing was in horrible condition and would have taken at least $3000 just to get it drivable and safe.
I will take a look at that green one though it does look nice and is one of the ones that I am looking for "2000 Limited" although really want the Elocker option which I doubt this has.

I am suprised to see all these ENC guys on here. Just recently picked up my T4R in ENC off of autotrader and LOVE IT! Been driving a Z71 for about 7 years but before that had a 92 Ext Cab SR5 Pickup 3.0/Auto. Loved the truck, hated the motor issues I had with the 3VZE.
