2001 SR5 2WD - Bubbles in Tach gauge and Temp gauge

Hi -

Recently purchased my 2001 T4R SR5 2WD - one thing I noticed when I purchased was that there were some bubbles formed in the tach gauge, and one bubble in the temp gauge. That one does not appear to affect the needle at all.

Was wondering if anyone else has run into this, what is causing it, and are there any fixes?

The guage cluster is not sealed, so you can remove the clear plastic part and see if you can just push the bubbles out, or poke it with a needle to let the air out.

My 99 has the same bubbles....I just got used to it

My 99 has the same sort of bubbles. They were there when I bought it. Doesn't bother me too much but eventually I'll do something about it. Saw someone recently on the "what did you do to your 4runner today" thread--that put on white faced gauges that looked nice.

And I am thinking I might want to go that route as well eventually, how soon depends on cost to get the white gauges. Any one have any tips or links on where to find those?
