2001Stellar Blue Pearl for my Daughter

I looked hard during the last 6 months for a 4Runner for my 16 yr old daughter. I live up in the country 50 miles north of Seattle in Arlington, Wa. Since I have been on the hunt, every once in a while I would see a 4Runner with this really cool deep blue/purple looking color driving down I-5 and I new that that was a great color for a young lady in her 1st 4runner. During my search I saw so many silver, white and black 4runners, limiteds with thrashed steering wheels and the beigh/tan leather looked like $hit along with browns and just brutal colored interiors. Finally, I found this one not far from home in Bellingham Wa near the BC boarder. It is still tight and fresh upgrades New Toyo A/T, KYB Shocks, timing belt waterpump, brakes and suprisingly a tranny that was rebuilt. The stock wheels are in unbelievable shape compared to the split star type stockers that I have seen on many of the limiteds. It also has grey cloth interior. I had it detailed and buffed out. I could not believe how cool finding this color of rig for my kid is. Its in great shape and the paint is still in super nice shape. She was suprised when I gave it to her and was out there today playing with her new Kenwood stereo with blue tooth and usb we had installed. It feels good to have another 4Runner in the family. Hopefully it will be reliable for many miles to come and with push button 4Wheel Drive I have the confidence if she needs to use it to get home from school due to a snow storm she can make it home ok. That runner is in too good of shape for a 16 year old girl to drive. Mine is 18 and on her second car, and still beating the thing up. Poor 4runner

Very nice color. Just read through the DIY and other threads at the top of this board to familiarize yourself with the known problems we encounter.

My first car was a station wagon with no headliner in it. It made the Griswold's family truckster look desirable.

Very cool 4Runner; I am a big fan of the color! The locking center diff is something I wish I had... I do a lot of driving on icy roads and would LOVE to have that option instead of straight 4WD.

I like that color a lot, not too many of those at least from what I have seen....great car for a teen- safe, but not sure about giving the daughter a large truck with tinted windows and fold down rear seats....better put the fear into the guys! (no disrespect meant

4Runners are the perfect width for air mattresses... Don't ask how I know :notsure:

She's lucky to get that truck! Hopefully it stays mint. I know at my high school the jackass that parked behind me kept bumping my trailer hitch because he had no idea where the front of his car was. He had huge dents all over his bumper from hitting my hitch every day. Make sure she tries to get a secluded parking spot. High schoolers have no concept of parking anymore. Lol
