It's not too bad, its a couple of minutes to get used to the shifting and thats it.

Yeah, unfortunately, I tend to drift when I only have my right hand on the wheel...haha. Comes with being left handed. Anyways, my main concern is visibility from the right side although, being higher up might make it not too much of a problem though. Probably would be beyond what I can afford anyways. I really want a 3rd gen, but right now can really only afford a 2nd gen but if I get a 2nd gen, I want the 4 cylinder but all I see in my area are V6's.

94 and up Surf's have the 3.0TD that is this engine, so you can get the power like the 3rd gen and the cost of a 2nd gen.

Man thats a good find. wonder how much power it makes and the mpg as well. is that 20 grand market price like the blue book value or is it just what the owner wants?

I email the guy before and he said that it avg 26 mpg so about 6.5 mpg better then a V6 4Runner

According the the ad it said it runs a 1KZ-T. Which Wikipedia says. Maximum output is 125 hp (93 kW) @ 3600 rpm and maximum torque is 29.3 kgf·m (287 N·m) @ 2000 rpm.

UPDATE bump

I did a search on craiglist and the 2002 Diesel 4Runner that I found when I started the post is still for sell for $18,000 2002 toyota 4runner diesel

But to my surprise I found Another 4runner Diesel in SoCal!!!!!!!!!!!! But its a 1997 4Runner 5spd 2wd toyota 4runner turbo diesel

That $9.5k is a good deal even for a 4x2, he probably isnt making any money off it.
