2003 Debadging

Has anyone debadged their 4Runner 6 years later? I'm concerned that if I take off the emblems, the paint will show fading. Plus, I've always cut them off with fishing line and cleared off the adhesive with Goo Gone. Is that a bad idea?

You may not get an answer to this...because I don't think anyone waited 6yrs to debadge.

Uneek mentioned once...take off one letter at a time & see if there's any paint fade, if there is, it's easier to just put back that one letter you remove than to put back all the emblems.

If the truck gets washed/waxed periodically, there should not be any fading. Plus due to the location of your emblems, I wouldn't expect to see fading. You ought to heat them up with a hairdryer first, then pull them off. The glue will be much easier to remove.

Just wash and re-wax over the areas you used Goo-Gone on, you'll be fine.
