Hello guys,
Please bare with me as I'm a newbie to the forum.
I have a 2003 V8 4runner and my check light came on which indicated that my oxygen sensor at Bank 1 Sensor 1 is not working. I brought it into the shop for my mechanic to check out and he did verify that It is my oxygen sensor that is causing the check engine light to appear.
As I'm low on funds after recently purchasing the vehicle, I went ahead and ordered the oxygen sensor online and figured that I install it myself.
I went ahead and ordered the Denso OE Style Upstream Oxygen Sensor #234-4138. After taking my original sensor off, I tried to plug in my new sensor but after a few minutes of trying to force it in, I realized that it didn't fit and that it was the wrong sensor. Did I order the wrong sensor? As I was shopping around of O2 sensors I called Toyota for a price quote, I remember he had asked me for my VIN number, does the 2003 4RUNNER have multiple O2 sensors and its specific to the VIN# of the vehicle?
Someone please help, i screwed myself over on $100 bucks since the store that I purchased my O2 sensor from has a no refund policy on open items. I'm such a noob!
