2004 Cup Holder & Rear Window Switch Lighting

Hate for my first post on the forum to be something so small, but I guess I have to start somewhere..

Noticed a couple weeks back that the two lights in the front cup holders as well as the light for the rear window switch have gone out. Anyone else ever had similar occur at the same time? Bulbs, Fuse, and/or wiring?

Any information would be great.

Did you figure anything out on this? Both cupholder lights and rear window light are out on my 2005 Limited.

Like the guy in the other post, I popped off the center console covers and traced the wires from the cupholders as far as I could see and encountered nothing that helped. I haven't checked the wiring behind the rear window switch. Wondering if maybe there is a fuse or something disconnected elsewhere?

I could do a write up for the cup holders for you, it isn't hard at all. Just some clips, 6 bolts and a screw. The window light I'm not sure on

Thanks, fellas. I'm just gonna try ordering bulbs and see if that makes the cup holders and rear window switch lighting work.

BTW, are those two circuits at all related? This thread lead me to believe they are, but the more I think about it, I wonder if it's just a coincidence that the OP and myself happen to have the same bulbs burnt out.

Cup holder bulb appears to be:

Rear window bulb appears to be:

use leds for the cupholder, its #74 size and u might as well do led, get 2 so u can change the shifter one too, i use the ones with 3 smd leds, on the window switch it takes neo3 bulbs, leds work also but not as bright like originals, but if you want it to match led swaps its ok, if you want original stock , stick with original bulbs.

I got the cupholder bulb assembly installed and....it's working! Fairly easy to install, but fishing the wire took a few minutes and some patience.

Gonna have to pull the dash to install the rear window bulb, so gonna wait and do that when I have more time.

I also installed a new DAC bulb as it was burned out too. I can't believe how many bulbs were out on this 4Runner! Several of the climate control lights, both license plate bulbs, rear window, cup holders, DAC, & one of the fog lights. I have a 1991 Toyota 4x4 that I bought new and I don't think I've ever replaced a bulb outside of the interior light in the headliner. What is with the bulbs dying on gen4s?

Check your little front marker 'parking' lights - bet they are both out. Well, a very small bet... both mine were out and that makes it hard to notice unless you are out of the car with the p lights on. Same type as license plate lights, amber instead of clear I think.

I think you might be correct. I looked at a parts diagram....are you referring to the bulb that sits on the outer side of the headlight assembly? Looks like it is called a "clearance lamp" and the part # is 90981‑15012.

Here is a diagram. It is called a "marker lamp" on this one. Part # 8 in the diagram.

I have a 2006 Sport that i just purchased last month... Was wondering if the rear window switch was supposed to light up, as mine doesn't, nor does my DAC button, or center diff lock... Is the a common to have to replace dash bulbs this early? I sell New Honda's, and we never hear of switch or dash light needing replaced.
