2004 Police Style Push bar with Hellas and Rigid lights

I just bought one, once it comes I will try to take pics of the install and update if I have any fitment issues. We can also work to effectively fabricate a bracket the will fit the frame.

For $140 I couldn't pass up exactly what I have wanted. Rigid Light bar anyone????

Got pictures of exactly what you are looking at? Can you take a pic of the other side? I took a look at behind my grill last night and couldnt figure out where the upper mounts would connect.

Can you take pics of where and how to mount underneath as well?

Most likely ordering this today w/ 3 round lights to mount up.

well, yes I've got a few pictures taken, but it didn't work even if I corrected my initial mistake

I really don't like the look of those that come with steel bars in front of my headlights but they might be the only way to go:dammit:

This is how it looks when hung from outside, the holes on the L bracket, clearly missed the holes on the frame.

Then the bracket will be tilted to an unreasonable angle like this:

I wouldn't believe that's how it's supposed to look like.

Hung from inside won't work either, same problem.

I also have no clear idea about where would the bolts of the upper brackets go, maybe into the long but not that wide hole behind the rubber part, but that hole is not even parallel to the long axis of the car and the smaller ones don't really matter if the main L brackets which is so much thicker and stronger can't be installed (My point is that you can't just use them to hold the push bar in place).

I would love a pair of brackets that would fit correctly, if he can make a couple extra that would be great. I am excited to get my push bar shipped and start to assist in figuring this problem out.

After thinking about it this weekend, this is exactly what I have wanted and the price is awesome, so for a little extra work of fabbing up a couple brackets, well worth it IMO. Once I am able to look at install issues first hand I will have a more comprehensive view of how to mount correctly.

As soon as he lets me know what the deal is going to be for the brackets price wise I'll ask him about making more for everyone else. He said he needs to take the measurements first to figure out the amount of material used. Hopefully he can do it for nothing or next to it. I'll keep you guys posted.

So I got my push bar in the mail, thae brackets didn't fit as expected, I am currently working on developing a solution to the problem. Anyone else had this issue?

On a seperate note, I am very excited to get my remote start installed and my marke lights blacked out tomorrow. Will post pics when done.

Sorry guys I've been away on vacation for my Birthday. I'll be back by the 28th. Spoke to my buddy and he is going to try to fix them first before fabricating a whole new bracket. He stated that he was going to slot the brackets and said for me to use a large washer with the bolt and that the pressure along with the bar on the center of the grill guard would keep it in place without wobbling. When I get back I will take pictures of the slotted brackets and post them up along with instal pics. He said that if it doesn't work for any reason he will work on fabricating a new bracket. You guys should contact the seller about the problem. I did and he refunded me $20, i know its not a lot but its something. Hope this helps and again sorry for the delay. Wi fi sucks here.

SO I installed my Police Style Push Bar, brackets didn't fit but I was able to modify the location of the hole using some old fashions elbow grease and a metal file. We thaught about cutting the into a slot but didn't want to compromise structural integrity of the brackets and having them possibly slip off. All in all it took about an hour to file the holes so the bolts fit, taking necessary breaks to re-hydrate. I also did not end up using the upper mounts, as they don't match up to anything and i have jumped and stood on the bar and it doesn't budge a bit. I am sure if I were to get into an accident it would screw up the bumper but this is primarily for looks as far as I'm concerned, any protection is just a plus. Still waiting on making a deicison on lights, 4 round lights or a RIGID Light Bar. I also got a refund back from the seller, which made mer a little happier. All in all I love the look fo this thing and can't wait to get my Runner lifeted. If anyone figures out how to fabricate any upper mounts I would definately be interested.

Ok, so after driving around for a few weeks with the Bar on the Runner it needs to be adjusted. The brackets sit about 3/4" lower than where they should. I went to Home Depot this morning and bought grade 8 washers with a high surface area and plan on installing them above the frame but below the bracket in order to push the lower brackets up. This should in turn lif the entire push bar so it fits a bit more snug. I should be able to install or at least try to install the upper brackets at this point. I will take before and after pics with an explanation of how I made it fit snug.

Has anyone else gotten this mounted up and/or figured out the best way to mock up the upper mounts? I have no idea where these things are supposed to go/hwo they fit. Looks ridiculous to me. Thanks guys!!!

Good call on the spacing Ben, after looking at your pics I was going to comment that it looks to be rubbing on the top of the bumper cover but then saw your last post. Push bar looks great on your runner:thumb3:, I really like the "police" style look! Still trying to find one for the 5th.

So I got about 45 minutes this evening and went out and spaced the brackets correctly. It is still over 40 degrees in MA and its 10:30 at night. So nice out!!!

the first pic is how low the bracket sat originally without the spacers.

The second is after inserting 9 grade 8 washers 5/16 x 1.5" on each bolt in between the bracket and the frame. This left plenty of room on the thread and actually pulled about two threads past the bolt. I was very pleased with the fitment FINALLY!:jaw drop:

There is a nice rubber flap that attached right to the bolts and covers most of your work keeping the general look under the hood clean (which I like). It's a North East 4Runner please save the surface rust comments.:happens:

Final pic is how it sits right now. A bit higher and more level. It actually improves the look of the truck and it doesn't slouch as much. I need a 3/2 so bad. Spring can not come soon enough.

I figured out how the upper brackets will mount up. Of course I will have to heat them, and bend to make it flush.

Overall the project was bit bigger than expected but at the same time it was pretty cheap. $140 for the bar shipped, $20 back from seller due to brackets that suck!:redbrick: but kinda :thumb3: then about $5 in washers and all in all 3 hours of time, mostly filing by hand. IMO worth it.
