2005 fan speed guage light out (Off, LO, HI) Arrows work

I have done a search on this problem but want to make sure I have the right info.

I have replaced the screw in bulbs on my climate control panel. Those are easy to replace.

The problem I am having is the OFF, LO, HI markers do not light up.
The bulbs I replaced only handle the ARROW markers on the fan speed.

Do I need to replace the bulbs that are soldered on to the circuit board to get the OFF, LO, HI markers to light up?

If it is the bulbs that are soldered on, does anyone know where I can purchase them and which ones I need.

Of course my second problem will be I have never soldered before. So I don't know if I can fix this problem. I don't know how good someone has to be to do this type of soldering.

The bulbs soldered on are for the little arrows. The twist in bulb lights up the hi lo symbols on the knobs i believe.

Well none of the lights were working on the fan speed control. I went to Toyota and purchased one of the screw in bulbs and now I am left with just the arrows lit up.

Maybe I am missing something.

While I wait for other responses, does anyone know where I can just buy the bulbs with the wires so I don't have to go to Toyota and buy them for $4 a piece every time they burn out? I thought people were buying the bulbs themselves and just re-threading them into the base.

They look like this, I am just not sure of the size/specs I need:

as mentioned, the backlight are twist bulbs, the arrows are soldered 3mm LEDs. if the backlight is not showing up after you replaced the bulb, maybe swap them around?

Just an update.

It was the screw in bulbs that were not working.

Since I replaced them, I assumed it was something else. I must have gotten a broken one from the dealer.

For anyone that wants to save a little money and the hassle of going to the dealership every time the bulbs go out, I purchased these:

14V 40MA T-1 (3MM) LAMP

14V 40MA T-1 (3MM) LAMP | All Electronics Corp.

They worked great and I don't notice any difference vs the color or brightness of the other bulbs.

I reused the screw in base and the rubber nipple that covers the light.

It was easy to replace. I just un-threaded the 2 wires from the screw in base and replaced the bulb and then re-threaded it.
