2005 t4r v8

I don't want to derail this thread but perhaps you should do some research on the subject; you might be surprised in what you find.

Generally, tuning is the killer of forced induction engines (or lack of) not the forced induction itself. A supercharger running low boost pressures with a safe tune will live just as long as its n/a counterpart. URD kits are only pushing 5-6psi, in a world of 20-30+ psi setups, thats as safe as you can get.

Keep in mind I'm strictly talking about the 1GR-FE V6, the 2UZ has some teeny tiny rods. While Gadget (URD) says his kit is safe, and I'm sure it is, that engine has had enough naturally aspirated rod failures that I wouldn't put a supercharger anywhere near it.

Edit: You're definitely right about the fuel, its a moot point for me. All of my vehicles get premium.

I have done my reaserch and have personally owned a dozen or so boosted cars. Some factory and some added afterwards.

Tuning does make a difference, yes. But the biggest issue with boosting a n/a car is the compression ratio. These motors have a higher compression ratio in the 10's. Factory boosted cars (even low boost) ideally are in the 8's and rarely 9's for compression ratio. With out adding a thicker headgasket to lower the ratio, reallabilty will decrease, and will not live just as long as its n/a counterpart.

As far as Gadget knowing what he is doing, I doubt that. He talks down to his customers and treats them like a$$. If you search his name you will find many comments about him.
