Yes. A fairing is a must, otherwise you get a humming sound. When attaching the fairing, it's also important to make sure there is little to no gap between the roof line and fairing, otherwise the plastic fairing vibrates. I took a rubber gardening tube, spliced it, then glued it on the fairing. This helped eliminate the vibrations and now all is good.
The lightbar on the rack is perfect btw. Lights up the road really well, not too bright were you get hazing on your windshield, just enough to illuminate in front of you.

Another alternative is the rubber car door edging you can pick up at a local autoparts store. It has an adhesive/double sided tape inside the channel to hold it in place.

Living in Colorado is awesome. Ventured down to Silverton this past weekend to check out Cinnamon Pass and Engineer Pass. Incredible drive and scenery, fun array of offroading. Engineer Pass was still snowed in up at 12,800 so we couldn't complete the entire Alpine Loop, so we back tracked down and then up Cinnamon Pass. Camped for the night only to wake up to fresh snowfall making the return trip back up west a little more hair raising. Ironically, a 3rd gen and 5th gen were the only trucks out on Sunday and we caravaned up together. One of the most memorable drives I've done to date.
Truck drove great and the new suspension did well.
Next up will be a desert run out in Dino NM and then a Ophir/Imogene/Engineer Run in June.

I ended up purchasing the RCI Front skid and Transmission skid powdercoated black. Installation was a breeze despite the rusted stock bolts when removing the cross beams over the catalytic converters. The skids are stout and sexy, plus Josh was a pleasure to work with and offers a t4r discount!
FYI - If you have the Schrockworks sliders, the RCI transfer case skid will NOT fit, as the sliders middle support beam interfers with the mounting pionts for the RCI skid.

We headed up to Leadville for the first time since moving here. Tried out Halfmoon Creek road up to Champion Mill. There were two major creek crossings that were a little intimidating at first, but the 4runner handled it well. Beautiful country.

Yep, that's what Josh at RCI said too, but you'd have to cut steel which isn't something I know how to do. I just wanted to mention that for people as reference.
Your 4runner looks great and nicely put together, well thought out. I passed through Breckenridge/Frisco a few months back on my way from Miami to Seattle and the landscape out there is incredible. It looks like you're having a blast finding new places to run, keep posting more great pics of what you find.

Recently installed the the Richochet LCA skids and painted the combo gun metal to match the wheels.

Nice. I painted my Expeditioneers skid gun metal last week, can you tell yours is gun metal? Mine just looks black unless you're really looking hard, due to the shadows I guess.

Technically, I used dark gray gloss. It's dark enough not to stand out but still noticable. I just wanted to stick to the gray wheel theme here.

Have you done this? I'd be curiuos to see photos. I was just thinking of RCI making a custom mount to take into consideration the bolt on slider placements.
