For sale: My tastefully modified and well maintained 2007 Toyota 4Runner V8 Sport Edition.
I bought this 4runner in 2011 with 18k miles and it is likely the best purchase I have ever made.
Currently sitting at 125k miles, it has taken kayaks to the beach, skis to the snow, tents to the woods, pulled race cars to the track, helped me restore a house, and has, with 100% reliability, taken my family and I anywhere and everywhere I’ve ever asked it to.
Everything I own, I like to treat as though I plan on keeping forever, and the 4Runner has not been an exception.
All the mods have been aimed at making the vehicle as useful as possible and all of the maintenance as though it were a member of the family.
2007 Toyota 4Runner Sport Edition
-125,000 miles
-4.7L V8, 5-Speed automatic transmission with overdrive
-Full time all wheel drive with low range and locking center differential
Recent maintenance:
-Timing belt and water pump done at 100k miles
-Passenger side exhaust manifold with catalytic converter replaced with OEM part
-New OEM Radiator
-Transmission, transfer case, front, and rear differential fluids changed to Lucas Synthetic oils
-Engine oil always Mobil 1 full synthetic with K&N oil filters since 18k miles
-New Optima Yellow-Top battery
Suspension and Brakes:
-Bilstein 6112 front coilovers, rear 5160 piggyback reservoir shocks
-Camburg ball joint UCA’s
-Wheelers Off-road Eibach rear springs (extra flex/travel and better load capacity)
-Hellwig rear anti-swaybar
-5th-Gen Powerstop front and rear calipers and discs
-Braided stainless brake lines at all locations
Wheels and Tires:
-SCS 17x8.5 wheels and 285/70r17 Nitto Ridge Grappler tires x5. Matching spare has been rotated in for even wear and longer life for the set.
Exterior:
-Custom mounted Rhino Rack Pioneer platform with custom quick release front windscreen, ExtremeLED 43” lightbar, and slide out kayak (or long item) lift assist bar. Entire platform can be unbolted with six bolts for cleaning under rack. Mounting rails powder coated black, stainless hardware throughout.
-Body mount chop (and re-boxed) and front wheel well mods for no rubbing with full articulation.
-LED headlamps, fog lamps, turn signals/DRL’s, running lights, backup lights, and license plate lights
-Limited factory paint matched grill
-30” ExtremeLED light bar mounted behind grill
-Ceramic (50%) window tint on all windows except windshield
-High amp 12-volt power run to rear with standard connector. Used for trailer winch power, air compressor, camping accessories, etc.

Performance:
-Custom stainless cat back exhaust. Large magnaflow muffler and resonator. Nice V8 sound while still being quiet for the neighbors. Zero drone at all RPM’s.
-K&N washable intake filter
Cosmetically, it is clean and in great shape, but it has been used. There are a few chips in the paint, some faded spots in the clearcoat, a couple inches of seam that has let go on driver’s seat, the trunk plastics have some scratches, the roof rack a little faded on top. It has been used, it has some wear, but there’s not a dent on it, the paint shines up beautifully, and it still gets compliments regularly.
Mechanically, I am including brand new upgraded Camburg upper ball joints ($350) as I’ve just started hearing/feeling play in the current ones. That and the front CV boots have just started to tear. Easy regrease and reboot and keep the bulletproof OEM axles for the next 100k miles.
As previously stated, this vehicle has been 100% reliable and except for an exhaust manifold that developed a leak (and replaced with an OEM manifold) it has required only a new battery and regular maintenance and nothing else over the 14 years that I’ve owned it. I would happily jump in it and take it anywhere, and I am hoping the next owner will do just that.
