Thai, I think you're more objective about the analysis of Toyota's sales numbers than Koz whenever this type of thing gets discussed and I enjoy it when you weigh in, but the first post of this thread was simply numbers which mean only whatever context any person decides to apply to them. Despite all the great context you've provided in this thread, can there be any doubt that even more clarity and context is possible? Should you be questioned for not providing it? Of course not. Unless the numbers, themselves, in the first post were intentionally wrong, I don't see the problem.

JB, you're right...i am sure that there may exist more context, but i do not honestly know if it exist. I have provided all the info that i got my hands on (from googling), including the links to the sources. Koz knowingly kept the most important info out of his post(s). Why do i know this?? It's because i probably got MY info from the SAME link as he did...the number of sales and % are ALWAYS listed together...as you can see from the links i provided. His initial post was an attempt to continue the debate that spilled over from another thread. If you read his first few posts, then you will get the whole point that he's making (and continuing from the other thread)...Tundra sales are skyrocketing and are taking over the domestics. He blew off questions regarding his info/data. He neither gave the links nor gave more info (which he readily has at hand). THAT is what i am annoyed at. This is not the first time that Koz has done this either...he has manipulated stats/data in many previous threads...another example, just see BMW 335i discussion in the off-topic discussion.

You read pretty deep into this one IMO. The only point I got was that the Tundra is seeing increased sales over last year, while the others are experiencing some decline/flatness. Not sure what's so sneaky and underhanded about that. Could have had a discussion on who's gaining, who's slipping and why....instead of Bickerfest-2007 here.

If anyone honestly thought Toyota was outselling GM and Ford's pickups, or will do so anytime soon....they shouldn't be participating in this discussion IMO. It's not something that will change overnight. That said, the extra Tundra sales ARE coming from somewhere, and it's obvious where. While you may be quick to discount the new Tundra's impact in the pickup market, you can be damn sure GM, Ford and Chryco are not. Time will tell how big of a chunk Toyota will be able to grab, and the first few months are just that.

Remember tho...at one time Tauras's outsold Camry's too. Bet your ass that's in the back of Ford's head

I agree here...It's just a little list of numbers and I don't think Koz was trying to hide anything. Anybody who has enough knowledge about the auto industry to post up about this subject surely should know that its going to be a while before the Tundra's batting with the big boys in terms of pure volume.

Thai, you know this. I know you know this. I also know that you are trying to provide all of the data for the people who don't know this (which you did). So why don't we leave it at that? You don't have to jump all over Koz for alledgedly leaving out info, afterall those numbers are correct, aren't they?

If you want a better measuring stick of how the new Tundra is coming along try looking at its month-to-month sales against itself and how that relates to Toyota's proposed 200k units in 2007 goal. At first it looked bad, but the numbers have been steadily coming up (mostly because Toyota did a poor job identifying which models would be highest in demand, namely the higher end DC's and C-Max's with the 5.7L V8). These models were under produced and are tough find optioned out whereas the stripped "fleet" models have thousands in rebates attached to them.

We all know there is more to vehicle sales than percentages. So let's state the obvious, put all the facts on the table and move on with our lives. If we disagree with what someone else has posted, sound off about it and leave it be. I'm already looking forward to seeing July sales!!

Exactly. This was not done and thus, i had to point it out to Koz. Hopefully, he will learn to be more open with his data/stats in the future.

I do not want this forum to be a bunch of Toyota YES bandwagon members. I want to promote unbias views and fairness in presentation. I have always pushed for it on this forum. Koz needs to realize this.
