2008...First trial in our first snow storm!!

Got our first real hit of snow today in Nova Scotia...time to take the show on the road!!

Drove around when everybody else was staying in...I have to say I was quite impressed with a few things:

1) The overall stability of the truck is superb in snow. It's heavy but it's the weigh seems to be well distributed front/back and left/right. (A little more on the left when i'm driving...gotta get back to the gym)

2) The VSC works wonders. I was TRYING to make the back wheels spin and fishtail but the VSC wouldn't let me! That's encouraging for when my wife drives...the system works....

3) Finally, the 4WD...now I was going up a midly steep hill from a stop and it wasnt' going to happen. Flicked it into 4WD, a few seconds of flashing, and then...too easy. Up that hill with no looking back...

All this with the stock Michelines....gotta get some good snow tires on soon and then I have the utmost confidence in this vehicle when mother natures decides to have a bit of fun....

Hey robcyr,

No question that the T4R can handle our Canadian winters. Got mine last September, and with the full-time 4WD on the Limited and brand new Michelin all-season tires it ran through the snow and ice no problems. This was the main reason I unloaded my RWD Lexus LS400 - completely impractical for year round driving up here. Can't wait for more snow this winter! I can only imagine how it would be if I put winter tires on this thing. Now I can head to the hockey rink no matter what the weather brings :)

After a long line of 4x4s over the years, I fully expect this one will serve us the best. No snow here yet on the roads but as was posted by CJ3Flyer, the overall balance seems ready to take on the ''slippies''. Given their reputation I look for our 4R to be at least as as good in snow as 'Mommy's' Pilot.Our driveway is such that with just little more than a dusting of snow, ya' ain't gittin' up it! Forecasters say this winter will be rougher than past years,I'll attempt to get by with the stock Dunflops, we'll see.
 
These go through a ton of stuff , the snow is a fricken blast to go out bummin around in. When the news makes the announcement for people to stay home because of weather , I head out. :D I live out in the country so there is not a lot of traffic.

The VSC will keep you straight and the A-trac will give 4 wheel traction and keep you moving through just about anything.

Agreed w/ EEtM33t, worthless with out pics. I went out the other night to get hot chocolate just cuz I wanted to drive in the snow. I was gonna take pics today, buuuuut it's blue skies and the snow melted... lame :bash:
