2010-2013 GX460 Interior Handles

One thing that has been bothering me since going from my 99 Tacoma to the '12 TE was the lack of the driver's side grab handle (the one near the windshield). Looking through some pics of the GX460 which I believe shares quite a bit with the 4Runners, I noticed that it has this grab handle as well as handles for the passengers. I know there are some other options like the ones that go around the headrest but I'd like to go for something that looks a little more OEM.

Further e-digging brought me to the following parts diagram that shows the handles (parts 15 and 16):

Has anyone seen if the interior panes from the GX would work in the 4Runner and would the grey trim color be the same? I'll likely pop over to Lexus this weekend to confirm but I was hoping someone has already thought of this.

I know with the Tacoma, the 4Runner tweeter pods were very easily adapted to the Tacoma doors for mounting separates. The GX460 pillars look to have tweeter pods in them in case someone wanted that option as well. Even the rear cargo cover looks almost identical to ours with the exception that it has an additional flap that connects to the rear headrests to cover the gap that the 4Runner cargo cover leaves.

You might want to take a quick peek behind that driver side pillar to see if there is room for a handle in that exact spot (and pre-existing thread holes). I recall on the passenger side, the air bag assembly was right next to where you screw the handle to. If there are no empty holes on the body, I might be inclined to just stop right there because I am not sure how safe it would be messing around near the air bags

Were you able to confirm whether these Lexus grab handle parts can work on the 4R?

I've been missing this same A-pillar feature since I upgraded from my Gen3 to a Gen5 4R.

I somehow missed this thread when it came up in June. Having a lifted TE, a driver side grab would be a good thing. Any update?

We were just commenting last night that we wish the 4runner had grab handles for the rear seat. Our Sequoia has some nice handles inside the rear doors (just behind the front seat) that make entry and exit easier. Is there anything that would work for the rear seats?
