I think you save money if you buy all the pieces separately? Dunno.

Yeah the 07-09 FJ had a different style CAI than the 10-14 FJ. The 10-14 FJ CAI is the one that fits the 10-present 4Runners. The other CAI is what fits the 03-09 4Runners :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

TRD performance Air Filter features a unique, oiled four-ply cotton gauze design.

Some of us chose to run the OEM paper filter, that is why one does not see the above in the list of parts.
As far as the other parts you listed that are included in the complete kit, they can be sourced for a lot less than the extra $$, but the only thing really required is the vacuum hose, wire loom and a couple of zip ties to fasten to the existing wire looms.

Good observation and research nonetheless that points out what's there and what isn't!

I saw so many posts stating that purchasing piece meal saves you XXX over the kit, however when you looked at the information it was not a 1 for 1 comparison. I just wanted to try to identify what the true potential savings was.

I have yet to purchase any of the parts for my '15 yet knowing that some of the designed tie down points don't exist anymore.

Saker Kit

I just had the TRD CAI installed by a mechanic friend of mine and it went great. I purchased the Saker kit through Camelback Toyota and I already have the KN filter. As stated by others, all we needed was some longer vacuum hose, zip ties, and electrical tape. We did use plenty of silicone! I was told to get out of his way after a few and he had it done in an hour or so. Looks great, sounds great. Under normal throttle you barely hear it. Get on it a little and you can tell its there. Stomp on the gas and you definitely hear it and I want to say you can feel it but I know that is more between the ears, lol. I like this mod and I'm glad I did it this way. Saved plenty of money. Now I'm going to research the TRD exhaust to see if I want it someday down the road. I have no desire to make my 4runner loud at all when under normal operating conditions. I hear the TRD is pretty quiet with no highway drone and that is what I want. Anyway, anyone looking at this mod should know that it's pretty straight forward and I think it's worth it.

Plenty of silicone? What did you have to seal up?

My local Toyota dealer is getting me all the parts for the same cost as camelback. I'm good friends with the parts guy lol. I should start ordering the parts next week!

It's basically a requirement to install these 2 pieces together! Not a sealant, just a lubricant.
