I really liked my 2008 FJ Trail Team, but what got me into a 4Runner were the following key issues:

- Rear cargo area that isn't flat and kind of small <- #1 reason
- No Sunroof
- Rear door that opens sideways, not up (up is better imho)
- Adult passenger difficulty getting in and out of rear seats. Lots of room, just a pain in the rear to get in and out.
- No heated side mirrors (huge issue!)
- No backup camera (at the time)
- Blind spots

The blind spots I could live with and maybe I could have added heated mirrors. The FJ is supposed to be utilitarian, but to me that doesn't mean you leave out important features like heated side mirrors. That was a HUGE problem in winter when parking outside. While I wanted a 4x4, I also wanted a bit more features and the 4R TE fit what I want perfectly! Stock for stock though, the FJ had better feeling (firmer) suspension and did not have the nose dive effect under braking that the 4R has. The nose dive was almost a deal breaker, but I've learned to live with it. I traded away my 2010 4R TE in may and what a huge mistake that was. I was fortunate to get back into a 2013 4R TE just last week. Just in time for the major snowstorms we got! Talk about timing...

Probably not. But yes, I read the OP. He was asking opinions of what he should buy, (30 -40 k purchase) from total strangers on the internet. Which was my point.

I was actually agreeing with your previous post that "just a radio" would not be the deciding factor, and then I added my post. Sorry I was not more clear. I was not directing my statement at you. Be safe.

I know what I am doing. Why would I base my decision solely on people's opinions on the internet. I just want to see if people on the forum have different points about the cars then I do. Ultimately it is my decision but I am using a "FORUM" the way it is supposed to be used.
