Haha, well, I sort of have a feeling that my bid is being driven up by a ghost account of the seller or something. I mean, how many people out there could really want a watch like this? According to eBay, I'm battling two other people for this watch. I'm skeptical.

The cell phone has definitely killed them for my generation. But for those special occasions I prefer my original Oakley GMT. Not the fanciest watch, but still garners some attention from people in the know. Plus don't even get me started on my sunglasses collection.

It's not a ghost account.... I was at five bucks. I thought it was pretty cool, but I'm afraid of what it will look like in person.

I love that most watch guys, no matter how expensive their best watch is, have EcoDrives.
The Tag Grand Carrera has been one on my short list for some time. I am not sure what it is that draws me to heavily to that watch, but I love it, just not $6k worth of love....yet

Your right, the eco-drives are great watches. The Skyhawk I wear for work, and the first one listed was a gift from the wife (girlfriend then). The Tag Heuer Grand Carrera Calibre 17 RS2 Ti2 is SUPER sexy, very, very nice and also is on my (long term) list, as I think the Breitling B01 will be next. I almost bought it this past weekend but desided to wait.

I just purchased the Maratac Pilot Watch, and I love the clean look of it, the quality of its build, and the price was right at under $200:
My other daily wear is the same one you have, Luminox 3051 BO, but I despise the fact that it has a SEAL trident on the back. :rant:

I like that, very simple but looks good, almost looks vintage. I agree 100% about the Lumi, Im not a seal and should not be sporting the trident of the worlds best elite special forces team. I work nights so the tritium number markings work great for me and its super light.

SEALs aren't Special Forces. Sorry for being pedantic, but Special Forces, in the context of the US military, only refers to members of the 1st Special Forces Regiment of the US Army. I'm a former member of that regiment, which is why I hate that the watch has a sh*tty Navy emblem on it, and a Navy SOF emblem to boot. :moon:
Understood, my father was gunna kick my azz if I joined the military (he was drafted by the corps and served in Vietnam) so he said go to college first then deside. I thank you for your service my good man, greatly appreciated.

When it launched in late 2008 it was not 45k (original MSRP was 35.9 if I recall). And while an internet search might reveal that as typical asking price, the watch sells in the low 30s. You gotta know the right people.
My buddy was looking at it a couple months ago, just browsing and that's what the Internet prices were. Reguardless of price still B A D A Z Z

Jewelry mark ups are ridiculous. I have someone I deal with and have for the past eight years or so. It is amazing the price of the jewelry I buy versus the cost on the tag.
