2011 Floor Liners - New Discussion Husky vs. WeatherTech

Went through this same debate about 1 1/2 years ago and went with the Husky Weatherbeaters. I'm completely happy with my Husky liners. They do everything as advertised and have great coverage area. I was able to get the Husky's full set along with cargo liner for what it would have cost to only get the WT 1st and 2nd row.

My only comparison to the Weather Techs is my brothers F350. The Husky's have spikes on the bottom so the mats don't slide around whereas the WT don't have the spiked feet (at least for the front row). My only gripe with the Husky's is that for the front the locking holes did not perfectly align with floor mat locks. I had to shave the hole on my mats a little bit to modify them to fit.

Either way, both mats are great and do their job to protect our 4Runners very well.

Here's a picture of tan WTs in my wife's SUV. WTs are harder, thinner, and more "plasticy". From my experience, the WTs seem to be a more slippery when wet.

Are the weather tech versions, being 'more plastic' than the husky 'rubber' feel also mean they are slick like plastic versus grippy like rubber typically is? Id like some that leave my feet planted versus sliding when they get wet or muddy...

I have the huskies and a friend of mine has weather techs. While my feet don't really slide around, I found his weather techs to be a bit more textured and would expect them to have a little more traction. Huskies are not so much rubber as just pliable plastic. It does not provide similar friction as a true rubber texture tends to.

if Husky made the x-act contour mats for the 4Runner i feel like this would be a no-brainer. my buddy has them in his tundra and they are fantastic. textured rubber, excellent traction wet or dry, easy to put in/pull out as they flop and fold easily.

i think it's kind of a toss up between WT Digital Fit and the Husky Weatherbeater.

I had Husky liners in my 1997 LX450 and WT in my wife's MDX (almost two years) and three months on my 4Runner. I like the WT mats best, they look good, fit well and easy to clean. Good luck.

I have husky's front back and cargo. Love the front and back but wish the lip on the cargo was a little sturdier.

Went for the 3D MAXpider Kagu mats (1st/2nd row) and couldn't be happier. They're a semi-rigid rubber with a softer feel than the WT, and without the ugly design of the Huskys. Excellent fitment and dead pedal coverage- lots of compliments from friends owning both WT and Husky. BTW, The rear cargo tray (no 3rd row) did not fit well and was returned. Will try to get some pics up ...

Having always bought Weathertechs, I decided to try Husky Liners this time around after seeing their booth at SEMA.

The biggest difference that I like on the Husky's is that they have little teeth on the bottom of the mat that grip into the carpet that prevent any sliding at all. This is NOT as important in the front seats because there is anchor but more so for the back seats where there is none.

I also got the rear trunk liner as well and I think the idea is right, but it curves up and hasn't settled for me down to the floor.

The Huskys are definitely better than the Weathertechs and they provide the same if not more coverage (going over the door sill on the fronts instead of just stopping at the sill)

As a long time WeatherTech user, I decided to jump on the Husky WeatherBeater bandwagon. I placed my order for them today.

The reasoning behind my decision is because the WeatherTech's don't have any area really to collect the water, dirt, mud etc. below the bottom of of your feet. It just sits there on the surface and eventually runs into the doorjam. Your feet just sit in the stuff on the mat. I was looking at pictures of the Husky's and I like that the ridges on the Husky mats are raised about 1/2" or so to allow the water and junk to come off your boots and settle between the ridges.

I'm not sure if my theory is correct based upon just pictures, but I'm excited to see how they are in reality.

I went with the Weathertechs on my 2016 TEP. I was concerned that they would be hard plastic and my feet would slide around but that isn't the case. Fit was great. No issues with front or back. Much better coverage than the factory all-weather mats.

I have Husky in the cargo area and WT under the seats.

The Husky cargo mat covers the full area, including the two side areas behind the wheel wells (the WT cargo mats are rectangular). It's definitely the better of the two. The only thing better would be a total-coverage system like Canvasback or Ultimate Pet Liner, and even then I'd say the Husky's are tougher.

I was debating between WT and Husky for the front, but went with WT because of the group buy back before Christmas. They've already paid for themselves. My youngest decided to get sick on the way to school the other day, but the WT mats contained everything nicely.

I went with huskys for the 4 runner I'm not happy with my wt in my tundra. Comparing the 2. Husky wins hands down. Considering ordering huskys for the tundra too.

From your pictures it looks like the Husky 2nd row covers the door sill also?????

The Toyota all weathers, including cargo liner, were in mine when I purchased. Definitely going to replace the front/2nd row with Husky weatherbeaters. I like the door sill covering as my previous Huskies (2004 vintage) did not do that and sand in that area was always a problem.

Can anyone who has done a replacement compare the Toyota all weather cargo liner to the Husky weatherbeater cargo liner.

The Toyota seems adequate, but the lip around the edges, particularly at the back, is not very deep and it does not have the little "teeth" to hold it in place..
