2011 SR5 Issues

Hey, I've had my 4Runner for 2 yrs now, with 45000Ks on it and already had a healthy dose of problems - just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same. I used to have a 2000 Xterra - and had none of these issue after 10yrs! Makes me question reliability for sure - and doesn't instill confidence that I'll have this one around for 10yrs or buy another Toyota period.

Problems I've had within first 2 yrs:
1. Lumbar support popping - seems to be common fault - after several trips to dealership, they finally seem to have fixed it with instruction from Tech Bulletin;
2. Corrosion blisters on back hatch paint - approx 20 pimples started on paint on back hatch, which have now started to pop. I've gotta take it in to either get replaced or repainted; and
3. O2 sensor failed - got a check engine light and error code P0137, so need a new sensor.

All things are still under warranty and should be fixed by Toyota - but there's no way a 2yr old vehicle should have this many issues.
I'm absolutely not inpmressed with my 4Runner or Toyota.

The rust on the hatch does suck imo. Even though it's covered under warranty a collision/paint shop will become involved and it will won't be exactly like it was unless the entire hatch is replaced.

The lumbar crunch was pretty well documented from what I read on the forum with an official fix.

The sensor seemed like you got the short straw there.

hey my Jeep never had a crunching lumbar, rust was character and I carried sensors everywhere I went.... these damn toyotas are so finicky! lol

I actually noticed 2 little pimple-like bumps (more like a prick than a bump) in my paint above my rear right (passenger) wheel well when I was claying & polishing the paint this weekend. I made a mental note of it- I was surprised to discover it, but I will be bringing it to the dealers attention when the 4Runner goes in for it's first oil change. Over time, and with exposure to the elements, surely those will rust down the road.
