20114Runner Limited liftgate

Hi all,

I have an 11' limited. Several months ago, out of the blue I opened the lift-gate and it just fell. After multiple fix attempts the dealership replaced the lift-gate. Since we've had it back the closing mechanism functions differently. When it worked properly, I would pull the gate down, the it would latch and electronically lock shut. Now, it just falls hard. The bug problem, the dealer is telling me it NEVER. Came with the "grip/close/lock" mechanism. I've driven this vehicle for two years, I know how it worked. Please tell me about your 2011 Limited lift-gate.

I don't think any of the 2010+ 4runners came with that feature...I only remember it being on my friends 4th generation 4runner. My 2012 certainly does not have this.
