I have a blizzard pearl 2012 SR5. I recently ordered shorockwork sliders and need to replace the rockers anyway, so I was thinking of just doing the whole trail conversion.
I've read through the great threads of Harper7, Jangoforhire, and Hbryanlopez about the trail conversion. Their threads are all all very helpful and their trucks turned out wonderfully.:guitar2:
However, in order to add a slight twist to the conversion, I was thinking of color coding all the parts (bumpers, flare, rockers) blizzard pearl. In other words, much closer to the 2010 Sr5 2wd and Canadian SR5 version. I've seen lots of little hints in my searches that the 2010 SR5 2wd front and rear bumper are identical to the Trail (with one exception: a comparison of the Toyota configurator images in 2010, which I don't totally trust compared to some of the actual images and part diagrams I've looked over). If so, I presume the approach and departures angles are equivalent to the Trail bumpers. If I'm going to spend all the money, I want to get the approach and departure angles correct.
Since I'm going to have the entire bumpers painted blizzard pearl, and the SR5 2wd front and rear bumpers were designed to be color coded with the body, that seems like the path I should take. If I could use those bumpers (assuming they have same approach and departure angles) would save money on the front and rear valances of the trail version (though I have not checked on painting costs, but I presume it would be an insignificant price difference between partially painting the bumpers and fully painting). I also want to keep my parking sensors and the SR5 bumper was designed for them (though I imagine I could drill hole in the Trail bumper to achieve the same thing). Has anyone ever been able to confirm that the bumpers are the same?
