2013 4Runner - what to pay?

I got this one offer for 2014 4Runner 4x4 SR5 with Rigid runningboards & remote starter for 33.5K + TTL and want to find out the price for the TE with KDSS. if less than 2K is it better to go with TE or SR5?

Hopefully someone can chimes in the benefit between SR5 vs TE with KDSS for just the cold weather/snow.
Thanks.

Just picked up the 14' Trail with KDSS, Running Boards, Cross Bars and slide out trunk thing for $35,000 + Tax and a dealer fee. The Entune comes standard on all 14's so I didn't add that to the list of accessories.

wesome price!! I could have gotten mine cheaper if I had bought one of the colors they had on the lot, but there aren't any Barcelona Red TE in the Southeast with the KDSS and I spoke with 3 dealerships that couldnt get close to $37,500 due to the fact they are still at sea and haven't even ported yet. Toyota of Dothan had to trade an order to get the one of two available and they cut 3k off MSRP. Did you see the invoice price on yours? What was it? Mine was $37,722.

That's still a good price. I had 3 dealers bidding on my business. Only one had the color on the lot and I was texting them while at another dealer. I had both of them down as far as possible but one had black and another had mag grey. It took about 3 hours of back and forth bidding but I got the deal and 2 tickets to the Denver zoo.

That's essentially what I did as well. I spent 4 hours at one dealer and he got down to 36,500 w/ out KDSS and no running boards or mats. I told him I would be in touch then contacted 3 more dealers via email and text that found me exactly what I wanted. I also should mention I am trading a vehicle and 2 wouldn't make a trade for what I wanted and the Dothan dealership was aggressive and got my vehicle with everything I wanted the price I wanted on the trade and the other dealerships tucked there tails and said they couldn't beat that price. I am super excited to pick the vehicle up next Friday!!!

I like your method. If it's not a secret, can you tell me how much you paid for your first 5th gen sr5?

If you want to make the best deal possible, do this:

Research your current vehicle to get a price you would like to have on trade.
Take your posted data above and pick a price you think is fair.
Figure a DIFFERENCE price you feel comfortable with.
Tell the dealer you don't care about the price of the new vehicle nor the worth of your trade in. You want to negotiate using a difference price.

Ex: My current vehicle is worth $15,000 to me. The new one I want is worth $35,000 to me. The difference is $20,000. Tell the dealer you want to trade for $20,000 difference. By negotiating this way, It puts the dealer in the position of moving numbers around to hit your target. Also, you don't care if he lowballs you on the trade and gives you invoice on your new vehicle. I will usually pick the highest worth of my trade and the lowest possible cost of the new vehicle, calculate the difference and start there. I learned this a long time ago. Now, after getting the best possible difference, then work on interest rates. This is the simplest, most pain free way to buy a new vehicle. You usually get the best deal too.

WOW! NO SUNROOF? I must have missed something. I thought all 5th Gen's had sunroofs. Or is it just and SR5/LE thing? I could use the extra head room by not having a sunroof.

I picked up my 2013 Limited today for $37,900 + TTL. 11% off MSRP. Pretty happy with the deal. I tried to take advantage of the 13's still sitting on the lot. This was for one the dealer had to locate too. I probably could have trimmed more off for one they had on the lot, but the color and options were just as I wanted.

At least in 2013 on an SR5 you had to buy the "Premium Package" to get a sunroof, which includes the display with navigation, heated seats, etc.
I agree with you and in fact i never opt for a sunroof because I don't care for them and prefer the extra headroom. It's a personal preference but I also don't like to pay a premium for a Nav system since most people have maps on their smart phones anyway...

In 2014 the base (non-Premium) SR5s and, I think, Trails have no sunroofs. Premiums come with sunroofs and I suspect LEs all come with sunroofs.
