When you have new tires installed on your stock 20" wheels, maybe you could post a few photos of the width? [MENTION=83083]rigtec[/MENTION] did this last year, but maybe his tape measure was in a time warp or something.

We've all been through this before! At some point in history, someone in a very high position, at a very prestigious firm, who was in charge of publishing highly privileged information, did a really bad thing... they dropped the proverbial ball! Turns out that this person (who's name shall remain Nameless... 'cause we do not know who it is'), 'Accidentally' published the wrong rim size data. The tire manufacturer's fitment guide read: 2010 thru 2013, Toyota 4Runner "Limited" wheel size 7.5J" x 20".
There was so much confusion about this at the time, that I went down to the local "Firestone" car care center and had them dismount my spare tire just so that I could "physically" measure my own rim to dispel any myth concerning the actual/true rim size; this is what was revealed; "see below":
"Mystery solved"; The rim is 7 inches wide! And I've been running the 275/55 R20 on it ever since and no problems! ...Hope this helps.

DW- that wheel and tire combo looks friggin awesome! I run the duratracs on my power wagon. I love them. I wanted to try the toyo's this time since they have good reviews and a bunch of guys at work have been bragging them up. Here's a pic of the gas guzzler:

2 questions... does that size throw out the speedo? If I wanted to go 18" rims what tire size would it be??
Sorry if that sounds stupid... trust me I feel "dumb like rock" for asking. lol

Hi 4RUNR,
No reason to feel like that... 'tis why we use charts for this! You'll likely end up with something akin to a 275/55 R18 or 285/60 R18; and NO 'detectable' change in speedometer accuracy! "See size calculator below":

One more thing to consider [MENTION=69141]4RUNR[/MENTION]... The 285/60 is considerably wider than the 275/55; close to a 'half-an-inch' and I don't know how that will affect the partnership at the bead on a 7" rim. Therefore, do some of 'your own' research just to be safe!

On my wife's Limited I ended up going with Method Standards and DuraTracs in 265/70-17.

Wheels were my wife's pick out of the method line. I think her selection was well executed. Glad she didn't listen to me...

Hey thanks! I appreciate the link! yeah hardly effects the speedo.
Here's what I wanted to go with... (see pic)
I like big thick spoke "easy to clean" wheels. I find the stock ones annoying.
So when I chose the 18's... Tirerack.com chose 265 sized tires.... but want the 275 or 280s... . I guess there's no issues with rubbing?

I really can't address whether the 285's will rub or not (I think others here are using them very successfully; not too sure if their truck's are lifted or by how much). I can however, tell you that using the 275/55 R20's, I have no problem w/ rubbing But if I crank on the steering wheel while hitting an entrance ramp Hard entering a parking lot I can get the tires to clip the fender liner slightly. Not sever enough for me to do anything about because I know how much to "back-off" before jumping a driveway! Rgds
