2013 TE came home today

She's home! After cleaning and waxing her from top to bottom i started some minor mods and searched everything about it from end to end. Just figured i'd put a couple minor things to bed...the 4x4 lever is still there(thankfully), the homelink buttons have now been numbered(1,2,3), and the USB port was moved to the center stack. Other than that its the same truck(thankfully again). Any questions please feel free to ask me. Now i wait for my n-fab bars, and light bar to come in so i can really start to make her my own!

So the USB is, in fact, on the center stack? In your first post you said it was in the glove box still.

Good news about the lever !, but the USB location moving is getting confusing.
I am waiting on mine to arrive and was hoping for a Lever and the USB port to be moved out of the glove box to the center stack.
 
You guys get your plates upon purchase?

Here in the People's Republik of Kalifornia they send our plates in about 6 weeks after purchase. It's one of few things the Democrats here have not taken away from us , the ability to drive around without plates for 6 months :D

yes it was moved to the center. I was wrong in my first post, i had opened the glove box and saw a "accessory" sticker in the same location that used to identify the ipod connector. Now there is only a accessory outlet located in the glove box

Those are the plates off my 04 4Runner. In NY we transfer vehicles with our car unless it changes class...ex. car to truck. Even if you do need new plates they are issued right at the dealership, only exception would be a custom vanity plate then you would have to wait for a few weeks.

no your not. I was hoping it would remain in the glove box so i could just plug mine in and leave it in there. Now its visible because there is no where to store it by the usb plug. It makes sense for using entune because your phone needs to be cabled... wish they would have just left one in the glove box and added the one in stack for phone

Question :
It looks like it has a door that closes to hide the USB and not be visible when closed, Can you plug in a Ipod put it in that pocket and Shut the Door ?

That is correct. You flip the door open and there is a little pocket and the usb port right there. My ipod is a little older and therefore larger, and it does not fit very well with the cable. Honestly it was a poorly thought out design. Now if you want to use entune and your ipod, you have to disconnect your ipod, plug in your phone all while drivng. I have no idea why they didnt just leave a usb in the glove box and add the center stack one for entune and your smart phone. Honestly though, that is the only disappointment in the truck.

Thanks, i waited about 2 hours! I wish my boards, and light bar were in and that would have been done yesterday too. Not that its not a great truck already, i just want to make it mine asap
 
Another difference that I can see in your photos is that you have a plastic front license plate bracket. On my 2012 they just screwed the plate directly to the bumper cover.

My 2012 does have the 1,2,3 on the homlink buttons.

I like the ipod plug in the glove box, but that is not really a big deal that they changed it.

I would like to get one of those front license plate brackets though.

Looks Nice - Congrats!! Sometimes pictures don't do the Mag grey justice - in person it really looks awesome - and very manly!

You can buy a license plate mounting accessory at most auto parts stores. I'm glad here in Georgia the state does not requre any front plates.

They still don't make a 4R plate bracket(i dont know why), so i went to the parts dept. at the dealer and had em give me 4 or 5 from different vehicles...the one i put on was just about a perfect fit...unfortunately it was out of the package so i cant tell you what model it came from. I can tell you without a doubt that it was off a current model toyota or scion
