2013 TE...does this spacer come-off?

I am getting ready to install a Cornfed 1/2" thick spacer on the front of my 2013 TE to "level" it. I don't want to take it apart and then realize I do need longer studs...

Can anyone tell me with certainty whether or not these spacers or washers come free when you remove the nuts? If they do then it seems like I wont need longer studs with the 1/2" spacers.

Isn't that just part of the nut? I think it might be a really thick flanged nut...

That's not a spacer, it's the design of the nut.

Bottom line, it will go away when I remove the nut? If so, I should not need longer studs with the Cornfed 1/2" spacers. The kit came with new flanged nuts...I stuck a calipers up under there and there is plenty of thread for the stack-up (1/2" spacer, flange nut).
I was just concerned that the "fat washer" in the photo was a boss spot welded to the bracket and might not be removable.

What you are referring to as a spacer is the nut. It's all one piece.

You have the stuff in front of you, did the Cornfed kit come with extended studs? If not, I guess just make sure the new flange nut can completely thread on to the existing stud with a couple of threads to spare and you should be okay without an extended stud...

Does your TE have KDSS if so would you mind posting back and letting myself and others know if it was an issue. I plan on doing the toytec level kit on mine and little worried about mucking with it.

I did go through the write up from Sp8Ball and Antmans on doing the toytec spacer kit but the runner did not have KDSS.

You have the stuff in front of you, did the Cornfed kit come with extended studs? If not, I guess just make sure the new flange nut can completely thread on to the existing stud with a couple of threads to spare and you should be okay without an extended stud...

Yes, I got in there as much as I could (6'6", 290) with the vehicle on the ground and measured with a caliper. I have much experience with other vehicles and have seen thick projection-washers (see photo) spot welded to create a reinforcement boss for a flange-nut. The projections create a concentration point for the spot weld and flatten out as they liquify...it's pretty common. You wouldn't know if it's welded until you removed the nut as they're spot-welded on.

Yes, I have the Cornfed kit and it came with new standard nuts. I just wanted to be prepared regarding those "washers" so I didn't buy long studs and not need them OR get the thing apart and find-out I did need them, but not have them on-hand. Looks like the factory studs ARE just long enough for the job (with proper nut-thread engagement).

I will photograph the various steps of the job and let you-all know if there is a KDSS SNAFU.

I know what kind of washers you are talking about, but did you actually try taking a close look at the nut? I really don't see how you can liquefy a washer this much to look that integrate to the factory nut (see below). Granted I have not pull that nut off yet, but it sure looks like a real thick flanged nut to me...good luck on the install!
