2013 Trail Pricing

So I found my ideal 4runner. 2013 Trail Edition with KDSS and entune, magnetic gray in color. Usually, when buying a new vehicle, invoice - $500 or so is the number that gets stuck in my head. Anyone who has bought a TE recently know if dealers are budging off MSRP on these? My stepmom just bought a new 2012 limited 4x4 for about 500 below invoice, so I know they will deal on a limited if I decide to go that direction.

I do a lot of price research before I step foot in a dealership and visit at least three. When I bought a Trail here in the southeast last summer I ended up paying about $750 over invoice. I was ok with this but it seems that others have worked out better deals. Good luck with your negotiations!

The final price is really depends on region, your negotiation skill etc. After I bought my SR5 for invoice-800, I found others got better prices. But enjoy your rig is more important, isn't it?:tea:

Really? That's like $2,000 under invoice. I'll throw it at them and see what happens.

There are two in Chantilly VA with Entune and KDSS for 36,200 or so, don't remember the exact number but from some of my research that is already below invoice supposedly. Hopefully I end up with one of them!

Make sure there isn't a missing freight charge or something. Dealerships sometimes like to pull a fast one by leaving that out until the end.

$36k seems like a great deal; better than I got, but I got the color my wife told me I wanted so all worked out well.

I think I found them online through a quick Google search. That should be enough leverage to get the dealer closer to me down to that price. Thanks for the heads up.

Eh, you have to clarify what they mean by "invoice". If we are talking true dealer cost, I would say up to +500 is a reasonable price for 4Runners, and that's only because of how their price structure works. The margin and dealer incentives are not nearly as padded as domestics.

The TE above for 36.5K sounds a little suspicious, but is possible with year end closeouts and excluding destination and regional ad fees (which can be up to $1700 or so, depending on region).

That's true. When I say "invoice" I mean the price listed on edmunds or some similar website as the "invoice." Whether that includes dealer hold backs or is the true dealer cost of the vehicle I am not sure. I did find the dealer in VA alluded to above that is offering a trail with KDSS and entune for $36,200 as a "special." I have yet to call and find out what the out the door price would be on it, though.

I bought my 13 TE from Koons auto in annapolis, md. They have a lot of dealerships in MD and VA. Anyways got it for 36,400 plus 200 fee and 845 destination. That was their advertised price. I'm from NY and found them on cars.com Went there becasue the dealers here would only give me 500 of msrp and didn't have any TE in the area
