Its no where near as clean cut or as bright. As I removed my headlights it wasn't dark so I couldn't get a picture of the stock vs HID but I have a few friends with 4runners so I will get a side by side with them to compare.

I got them mounted last night and drove home with them. WOW huge improvement over stock. So worth it!

When it comes to lighting, pictures never do it justice. With all the LED's I've added it wouldn't show the zombie scaring power in any picture I could take.

Very nice write up... and I agree with the above statement that pictures never do justice for lighting upgrades.

I'll most likely be doing this mod sometime down the line. I have HID's installed in my stock halogen projectors and the cut off is very sloppy. Can't wait to do this mod myself.

Very nice cut off. Great work on making the bracket to hold the GS projector! I just used QuikSteel to "glue" my IS projectors in place. Yours looks clean!

Is there a reason you picked GS over IS?

No real reason, I got a killer deal on GS projectors. I do wish I got the shrouds with it to help fill the space between the projector and the stock shroud.

3x the lumen output, wider output, no glare above cutoff. You really don't know the benefits of a HID projector and bulbs over a halogen projector bulbs?

EDIT: oh, I see you're running HID bulbs in halogen projectors, if that's the case, it's probably a lost cause trying to explain the benefits...haha.

There are two types of vehicle owners, those that slap HID kits in halogen projectors/reflectors and those who properly retrofit HID projectors in vehicles. Neither side will be able to convince the other, I've given up!!

I miss my Morimoto projectors/HID's in my retrofitted Titan headlights. Wish the toyota ones were as easy to retrofit. You literally tightened the projector to the housing through the stock bulb hole.

FYI. He sold his 4R and may not be on here any more. He hasn't updated his FS thread for the headlights in 3 weeks. If he's ignoring your PMs, seems he likely sold them. $.02.

If i went that route I probably would have had to cut more of the bracket and modify the front projector more since the way it is mounted. Alot of OEM setups mount the bracket this way or well at least ones ive played with in the past.

I'm planning on starting this mod, but i had a couple questions if you dont mind helping me out.

1- Which HD relay harness did you purchase? H11? or 9005?
- reason im asking is if you buy the relay harness independently, there are many versions of it. However if you were to specify the vehicle and click on the H11 Morimoto Elite kit, it automatically selects the H11 relay harness with no other options.

Thoughts?

2- The 9005 connector you purchased was the female version correct? and that was to modify the stock Toyota connector?

3- The Lexus HID projectors and the 4runner halogen projectors both need to be cut with the dremel in order to sandwich them together correct?

I have an extra set of 4runner headlights, morimoto halos and led strips that i plan on incorporating into this project. But before i start purchasing the list you provided, I just wanted to get some clarification on the questions above and any lessons learned you may have..
