2014 4 runner...wheel balance

..anyone have an issue with keeping wheels balanced...seems to always have a shimmy in the steering wheel at 65 mph or more...or is this just me

i had an issue when I replace all 4 tires.. the shop where they doing the balancing should change a piece in the balancing machine. a piece that hold our 6 lugs wheel not 5 or 3.. and that would correct the promble

I have this problem too, although I'm not entirely convinced it's always caused by the vehicle/tires. I notice that right at 65, there seems to be some vibration, although the wheel does not shake, more like the vehicle lightly oscillating. Above and below this speed it's steady and smooth, and is not always replicated on every road surface - therefore I'm wondering if it's actually due to the road surface and some sort of frequency that might resonate (not exactly correct, but this seems to be the best way to describe the phenomena) throughout the vehicle at ~65mph.

Curious if this is more common than it seems.

With my original stock tires/wheels and now with two other sets of tires/wheels under my belt, the balancing has been perfect on my '14 since I bought it. No shimmy at all that I've noticed. In fact I've been super impressed with how smooth the 275's drive at all speeds.

If you feel like it is the tires that's causing the vibration, try to find a shop that offers road force balancing.
