everything I've read is that if you replace the stock stereo system you will lose some of the functionality of it....it seems lots of people are still looking for exactly how to keep all their bells and whistles and get a better looking radio (heck, I'd like to as well...I especially hate those monster knobs)

Get in with leather work gloves and those monster knobs suddenly work very well. Take the gloves off you say? It's 26 degrees and snowing right now lol.

Was this the base model at the car show?

I know the new corollas and new highlanders are integrating a touch screen radio interface even on base models. I think its a move to combat Honda's standard base touch screen radio.

lol...Fair enough...in Houston I shouldn't experience those sorts of extremes. It does "freeze" sometimes tho...lol

Yeah, it's one of those things that make no sense in some areas and a lot of sense in others. A heavy glove won't let you use the steering wheel controls without hitting more than one button. In another thread I said designing a vehicle is an exercise in compromise and I will agree the knobs are one of them. BTW it's still snowing outside. I really need to move south!

There are duplicate steering wheel controls for switching radio stations too, so it makes sense that the other set would be accessible to the passenger side.

no incorrect, certainly in fm mode. Sterring column does presets while seek button seeks.

Really? where did you read that?
The JBL in dash unit is pretty basic actually. Bluetooth and iPod connectivity. What in dash navigation unit doesn't have all that.

The only trouble is getting the back up cam to work with aftermarket. Factory mic is a difficult piece I hear as well. That's about it though.

Entune is hardly an upgrade,:nono: the JBL system in my Limited is a better system. Toyota is pushing the "Entune upgrade" because in the near future you will have to subscribe to it with Toyota to continue it's functionality. IE; it's just another way for Toyota to take your money.

Gloves and/or older buyers and/or fat buyers. My commute is only 6 miles to my T4R is just starting to get warm by the time I get to work. That is why I love heated seats, actually. They get my butt warm immediately while the engine is still warming up.
