Why does Toyota call this a "redesign" isn't it just a mid cycle facelift? Reading the press release it almost seems like this thing will be a 6th gen 4runner??

Agreed.

Hope they do something more than change up the headlights and tails. Would be awesome if they offered white color for the TE version, more off road capability for the TE version, etc.

The TT FJ Cruiser comes with sliders from the factory. They should do similar things with the TE (not sure how good the oem sliders on the FJ are).

I'm guessing they have a LED DLR that makes an angry eyebrow. That could look cool.

I saw them at first and didn't like them but I think I may end up doing the conversion for both front and rear. I'm pretty confident once they release full images with the new updates it's going to look pretty damn good. From the looks of it I would just have to modify the Shrockworks pieces under my current headlights and the grill surround to fit the new headlights. The tails look to be an easy bolt on. We'll see.

i doubt it. Probably just the parking lights like on the current headlights.

New headlights! Not real crazy about the tail lights though.. There have to be more changes than this, right?

Thanks for update, I guess we can replace the tail lights on 2012/13 with 2014 BUT Headlights, different ball game.

To me that means the 4Runner is going with more of a cross over feel trying to make the look more pleasing to the eye.

It's my impression that the 4r couldn't be any more pleasing to my eye, at least.
