Anyone looking for a base 2014 Trail white w/ kdss and nav in socal? My salesperson called me today. He just got one in. Pls pm me for info.

He got the car for me, however, I bought a 2014 gx460 last wkend. (I was in a car buying mood and I found a base stripped white gx460)

Sorry I'm :offtopic: Legacy not treating you well?

its a good car, the awd and engine are great, but its the little things that have gotten on my nerves after the first year.

its the subaru noises that is inherent to the brand or you could call them quirks. going from a toyota then going to other brands, you tend to notice the little things you take for granted that you dont hear in toyotas that you get in others.

the car has been trouble free the 4 years ive had it, not one issue, but everytime i take it in to have something checked that sounds odd, they say its normal. even in the legacy forums they say the same thing. its the subaru noise feature so to speak.

to me its very annoying since i drive to work with no radio on and i hear everything.

driving the wardens tacoma is like night and day compared to the legacy and its a year old.

the main reason was to get better clearance on those deep snow days, since i have to be at work regardless. last year was a nightmare getting out of my subdivision since it doesnt get plowed 2-3 days later, then the work parking lot was a mess, no one plowed it.

icing on the cake was the little things, plus i can afford it again to get back into a 4runner, so i jumped on it.

Well after losing sleep over this I decided the 2014 just didnt offer enough for me to ditch my 2011 (PAID OFF) 4R. So I passed on the GEN5.5 Limited, kept my SR5 and I am going to add more mods..... but I couldnt go without buying something so the wife gets a new toy:

NoDak I had to chuckle at your description of the Suby. You describe me to a T. I hear everything - makes me nuts - wife says I have dog hearing. How you kept that car 4 years is beyond me.

I traded my 06 Cayman S MT in towards my 13 TE. I miss that little Porsche so much. I plan to get a used 2nd gen cayman S after I pay this new 4runner off. Don't be afraid to get the rear loose in the cayman, they are easy to control in the turns! Enjoy!

The issue with your crossbars is interesting. My dealer called me last week telling me the system would not let them add the bars to my order. They said they will keep trying until it reaches port, but might have to install them after delivery.
Crossbars came in and were installed yesterday.

I went to tow for the first time on Sunday (just made it to 500 miles :)). Bought a ball, put it on the OEM ball mount. Tried to install ball mount into hitch. The pin wouldn't go through! Swapped the ball mount 180 degrees, still no dice. :dizzy:

Ended up going back to Lowes and bought a 5 1/4" drop ball mount due to the 7" mismatch between hitch and trailer coupler. Luckily, this mount fit! The dealer was a bit incredulous when we told him about it, but showed him in person yesterday and got a new one that works.

Caymans are pretty hardcore...I wouldn't call them a chicks car. They are a driver's car.

I had it described to me like this... "The Cayman is no poor man's Porsche, but it is a smart man's 911."

As crazy as it sounds, it came down to this car or the 2014 4runner... Ended up choosing the one that could haul all my toys around, vs. the one that could just haul my :moon:

Good news on the cross bars. Will see how it goes with mine. Not too concerned about it.

Lol I know how you feel. I have had a Subie for 12 years and it's always making strange noises (although its at 200k now so I cant really blame it). Hopefully you'r more happy with the 4Runner!

2013 : 2417 2140

summary:

RWD : black silver and white had the significant increase in inventory

4x4 : blue being the rare color by a big margin still with red just behind (this mirrors the RWD's also). silver, black, white respectively are the big inventory hogs with mag grey still being the biggest seller as numbers cant keep up or keep dropping.

2013 deals : inventory still saturated with over 2k on the lots, average drop is around 300 a week. not expecting any significant deals on 2013 until probably jan-2014, possibly 3-4 week of december. big push will be once it drops below 1k.

Got the call that my 2014 LE, Mag Gray, Black Leather, Auto Running Boards, No 3rd Row, No Cargo Tray will be at the port by 12/16, which puts me somewhere around Christmas to accept delivery. This was a "preference ordered" truck because dealers in MA and MD that had this exact configuration would not give theirs up. Pretty excited for my new girl to arrive. Now if TRD would make a cold air intake that fits the new models, I would be even more happy!:blah:

to give you a rough idea, mine hit port on 11-13, and suppose to arrive at the dealer on 11-27 or 12-2, before or after turkey day.

doesn't matter if it arrives before since I told him I wont do paperwork until 2-dec anyway.

Got my new Kelly Safari TSR's

Ok I know its a bad pic but it was damn cold here today in NY. I went with 265/70/17 load c and obviously now you can get them with a black side wall. So my initial impression is this. The looks and feels right on the truck. There is absolutely no additional road noise. You can tell it had a more aggressive tire on it but really in a good way. Next week Ill be getting into some snow and mud so ill update then.
