Personally I don't think those TRD wheels look good on 5th gen 4runners, and especially on the 2014 models. I think the updated design makes the wheels look even more dated. Not my style.

to those that bought a 2014, did yours come with a leather holder/binder that all the manuals store in?

seems kinda odd the warden's 12 Tacoma has a nice leather binder to hold all her's but mine didn't.

yes, it came with leather holder.

BTW, during the orientation before the key handover, she mentioned several times to bring in the 4runner when 6 months are up for oil change even if its not 5000 miles yet or you lose that service interval since toyotacare is good for only 2 years -thats my recollection...the only thing thats bothering me a bit is that my 4runner came with those wheel rim locks but im wondering belatedly , where are the 4 or 5 regular lug nuts that those locks replaced or is it like that because they were replaced before handover to customer ?

yes, its black with "toyota" indented on it like a branding iron. only value i see with it is that it prevents the manuals from jostling around in the glove compartment.

if you ordered the trailer hitch , you should find a complimentary trailer brake light harness in the glove compartment in a sealed plastic.
if you ordered the wheel rim lug nut lock, the lock adapter to use with the tire jack will be attached with the tire jack, together with sealed instructions for the dealer -havent opened it yet maybe something to do with if i lose the lock adapter. - at least that's what I got.

Really? Gotta call my sales rep now. Thanks for the info!

thanks for the info. thought it was odd the more expensive 4runner wouldn't come with one when the cheaper Tacoma did.

perhaps it depends on the way the salesperson handed it over. the way it was done with me was she personally gave me the keys and the manuals inside the leather jacket. maybe in your case , they gave you the keys but not the manuals which were just left there in the glove compartment ? which might happen if the staff are busy or in a rush perhaps ? just guessing

My 2014 Limited that I took delivery of last month did not come with any kind of leather holder for the manuals; just got a cheapie vinyl envelope to hold it all together, sort of... Given the different responses to the question, I wonder if it's a dealer-specific thing that they do, or don't do?

that is also possible....or maybe this leather cover is available only in limited quantities or at certain dealers(e.g. high volume dealers) ...or maybe its because i got mine from the fleet manager... who knows..

I was given a "leather" binder (probably Softex). The fleet manager I dealt with mentioned that those were "VIP Only" and that most of the time the books were bundled in a cheaper plastic case. FWIW

yeah they don't come with a leather binder anymore. just confirmed this with the dealer and looking thru the other LE on the showroom floor.

sucks since the manuals slide around in the glove box and whack the sides with a thud making turns.

pretty dam sad a 45K vehicle doesn't come with one.

You can get one on ebay for under 20 bucks shipped. I had one come with my 2001 4Runner, and just kept it each time I moved to a new Toyota!

Question: I have the 2014 trail. Is there a way to totally disable the traction control? If you press the button, you have to remember to do it everytime you start the car? I hate traction control and feel like even when you turn it off with the button, it appears to kick in a little? With my wrangler you could do a steering wheel sequence that would completely disable it. The only way to turn it back on was to do the sequence again.

Press and hold the trac button for a few seconds while stationary. And yes, unfortunately have to do it everytime.

no cost option that isnt really described online, brochure, etc.

i imagine you have to have it on the order sheet when special ordering or part of the allocation selection. didnt see that option when i was going thru the dealer internal toyota website when i ordered mine.

gonna have to re read the window sticker again.

I truly hope my manuals come in a leather/vinyl holder when my runner gets here in a couple weeks. It would be the frist new car I have ever owned that didn't have some kind of vinyl/leather holder. Heck even the cheap Scion TC my ex had come with a cloth manual holder. I mean come on it may cost Toyota three bucks max by providing the nicer holder. By not providing a decent cover Toyota is telling their customers yes please pay between 32-46k for our product but here is a .10 cent manual holder that you would get with any cheap piece of electric equipment.
