its the same bumper. When you order a bumper there is a pull down menu that gives you options in regards to hoops, material, and finish.

No hoops option for the hefty, as the structure wouldn’t hold up. Doubt the CBI has been tested in that respect. In my case, the only option is the fully hooped steel. No sense in a full plate bumper if there are no structural hoops FOR ME.

Hey man, very cool 4 Runner. I just got the same Front bumper bar from CBI and I'm getting ready to install it. I got the KC LZR 4" round lights to replace the fog lamps that CBI recommended and they really don't align that well from behind the bumper. Did you have any mounting issues with the lights that you have?

Kind of interested in this too. Seriously consider this bumper in steel and the center hoop, but am wondering about how to cut it. Don't want to mess that part up (but can probably figure out the other steps with trial and error!)

Just curious if you installed all by yourself?
I have a steel same bumper with winch inside which should be about 200lbs.
I’m thinking I can, with a little difficulty, lift it into a floor jack then raise it into the correct position then install a few bolts all by myself. There may be some balance issues but it might be doable. What do you think?

I don’t think that’s gonna happen, me and the old man installed mine over a weekend. We removed and installed it several times to cut and bend some pieces out of the way. Even though CBI makes some bad ass products I had to cut about half and inch off the top left corner of the bumper and the slot where the A/C line passes through. After all that modification it’s nice and quiet inside the cabin when hauling ass down fire roads.

I just giggled a bit. Definitely NOT doable. It MAY be feasible with a transmission jack. If you have to install by yourself, maybe you have a rafter or tree branch that you could attach a hoist to.

Question: Did you have any rattling? Mine has some rattling on the driver's side. I have a few suspicious areas, and made some tweaks, but it's still there. I think it's the metal "wings" (very posterior part of the bumper on either side) contacting some metal on the 4Runner, and I tried pushing those parts in a little but the rattling is still there...

I won’t lie, it wasn’t easy making it very straight. Actually, I plan on buying some weather stripping to kind of cover up the edge and so it appears straighter.
Definitely use the wider masking tape instead of 1”, I think that is easier to lay straight. Also watch Swellrunner’s vid on YouTube if CBI installing it, there were a few good tips I gathered from the video
I used an oscillating tool to cut and it worked fine. I think some use an angle grinder. It may melt a little bit but you can kind of rub off the rough edges. Then, use a sanding disc or sanding attachment to go over the edge to smooth it out.
Tbh nobody’s looks perfect up close, but from some slight distance you won’t notice.
It’s quite tricky to cut that black plastic fake grill/mesh part on each side, btw.
