2014 Entune problems

here are my experiences not even a month in.... GUH!!!!!

I had the same problem. A trip to the dealer for an update fixed the problem. This was last month.

The dealership did mentioned that i should capture a video anytime the problem occurs again so that I can file for a warranty claim. I came under the impression that if i had a video of the unit freezing Toyota would warranty it without too much hassle.

If you would have held in the power / volume knob in for several seconds, it would have done a hard reboot and restarted the head unit.

You have to have this done at the dealership via techstream.

So far, since the update, mine has not acted up once.

I need to go to the dealer then. Both of ours reboot/lockup so frequently! I was at the dealership not long ago and they said there was no update available.

I was on the phone this afternoon with the dealer and they have been listening thus far. Sent them these and will call me in the am. I wanted to lost these so others can see what it looks like if you "think" you had the issue.

I'll keep you all updated in the progress.

I will say out of the 4 4runners, tundra and FJ that I've had over 18 years this is the first thing I've had to honestly claim as a warranty issue......

I'm In Apex. Purchased at Leith so letting them deal with it otherwise id just take it to Hendrick in Apex.

Leith Toyota installed the update this morning. Haven't driven enough to know if the freeze is fixed. I will know tomorrow evening as we drive back to the OBX. I did notice that the street names and speed limit is back on the screen.

Etune problems

I have 2014 Trail Premium. I have noticed that my Entune freezes and restarts two-three times back to back while I am driving. The screen goes black and restarts like I turn the engine on. I loose my navigation, music, everything.
Just recently the system downloaded the update. Of course does not happen at the dealer.

Don't have Etune, but I do have Entune...... LOL

It was a typo. Entune, not Etune.

My headunit restarted or locked up 5 times in the last 3 weeks.
Videoed each time and contacted the dealership, sent them the vids, they wanted to check to see if it has the latest software update.

The dealership installed a new update today, see photos.

EDIT: Update to software had to be done via Techstream, otherwise I had the latest update.

After reading [MENTION=103267]Saker[/MENTION] 's post, I stopped in at the dealer because JBL head unit in the LE was starting to randomly lock up, freeze, freak out. Dealer updated software in about 45 minutes - and no problems since. I could swear I get better sound via Bluetooth now, but could be dreaming too. Now if only I could get an updated SD card for the nav without paying $289!

I'm asking because I'm actually sitting in the waiting room at Leith right now, having them look at mine. Hopefully they will update it for me, but the service advisor seemed to not want to update Entune in my 4Runner for some reason.

Edit: The service advisor just came back, and they are going to update mine. Hopefully that fixes it.

Just had 3 back to back reboots with my 2016 Entune Premium (Limited). Tried disconnecting my phone and turning off audio, still occurred. Quite odd as I have had no issues since a day 2 full reset...I have what I believe to be the latest firmware. I suppose I will wait for it to happen again and call the dealer? Ugh... If anyone has a shortcut, I would greatly appreciate your insight.

Looks like it was updated to 0101D1.

I just had mine updated by the dealer with (same update #) and it seems to have worked so far. My unit was freezing and resetting upwards of 5 times in an hour long trip. Took the dealer a little over an hour and half to get it flashed (it was busy Saturday). So far, no resetting has occurred.

I was at my wits end with this system, almost to the point of replacing it with a aftermarket set up (i'm not an audiophile by any means), and they just saved me the $700+ in unnecessary audio upgrades/custom work.

This just had this happen today on my way to work(2016 SR5). I have 1500 miles, It rebooted 5-6 times in the 1st 1/2 hour of my commute.

My HU did something weird the other day, videoed it so the dealer could see what it did, invariably it will never repeat when at the dealer!

Started engine, HU went thru its splash screens as normal. When the screen loaded up, it was black on the left side with only Nav showing on the right.
I tapped the left side of the screen, no results, tapped the right side of the screen and the Nav map came to full screen. Pressed the home button and it displayed normally, Radio on the left | Nav on the right.
25 minutes later I went to my weather app to look at the radar..... kept getting the splash,
Downloading data.

I tried to reproduce both of these events and so far, been unsuccessful.

Contacted the dealer, taking it in Thursday.

Will this update fix issues with Bluetooth connectivity?

I have a very hard time with the Bluetooth CONSTANTLY disconnecting and re-connecting.
