2014 Limited new owner, Anything to know?

Hey everyone, new to the forum and this seems like an awesome resource for information for any upcoming projects or problems. Not new to Toyo's by any means but this is my first 4 runner (2014 Limited). Any tips or things to know as a new owner of a 4 runner? Whats with all this Entune stuff, seems like basic touch screen functions to me that Toyota boasts about. Oh and i think the first mod will be a CAI, I have always thrown one on just about every vehicle I have had (why not when it pays for its self in a couple years) anyone notice the change in gas mileage/sound and the few hp CAI's bring? Look forward to my experience here!

It's a great truck so just drive and enjoy it. Do your mainrltenance amd you will get many many miles out of it

Changing cai will only get you sound from reading around here. Our 4runners already come with a cai from the factory. But I also did read the snorkel gain 1mpg lol
 
and if you get approached by this asian guy who says he has been a mechanic for xx amount of years, and that your truck will have 'too much friction' when driving at highway speeds in a parking lot while in H4L...

run...fast...He's :loco:
 
Go and explore all the unpaved road out there. Go make plans for all the places you want to go that your other vehicle didn't allow you to go. =)
20" is fine for the most part unless you start hitting the hard trails and lookwise, the Limited can look good with 20's

in my best mafia voice "welcome to the family". Why the mafia voice? Because once you start modding you can't stop, you can't get out, there's no escape.

Having run 20"s on my trail edition for a short time i dropped down to 18's with a -12 offset. Makes the stance right, and rids it of the muffin top look when observing from the rear... For a relatively small investment you can seriously enhance the 4R's utility capabilities.

This is a great resource, the community is pretty helpful as long as you at least claim to use the search function before asking for help. :D

If you're looking for more subtle improvements, the most cost effective start is to upgrade the interior lighting with LED bulbs, then switch to HID headlights and Philips LED fogs. I have a pretty good write up on here for the lights, and as a matter of fact i just upgraded my upgrade. So ill be updating the post in a few.

Anyway, not sure if this is your first 4R or not, hope you enjoy it.

OP-The most important thing to know is that no one on here knows as much as they THINK they do. Congrats on the new rig and let me know if I can ever be of any assistance.

Miquelon that things badass, seriously! This is my first 4 runner but I did have a 5.7 Tundra prior and I haven't had any difficulties going up or through anything (then again I live in FL so thats not saying much). We just got back from a 4 hour road trip and was surprised the decent gas mileage we had for being 4wd at all times and being a giant box going down the road. Definitely not going to change out the rims but the lighting does sound like a good idea seeing as that was the absolute first change I did to the Tundra. That and Weathertech.
