I have owned a 4runner before. Something has to be wrong when the base 2003 sr5 with Dunlops drives much better than the 2014 Limited. I mean, it's not even close.

ED, something must indeed be wrong. A Limited rides nothing that can be called "rough." Tire pressures do indeed affect the ride, but even overinflated tires give the Limited 4Runner only a "firmer" ride. If anything, a LE is a little on the soft side, allowing the truck to take big holes, cracks and terrible roads in stride. Many times I've had to slow down because conditions were worse than what was being conveyed through the suspension, which in my decades of testing everything under the sun is the most Goldilocks of any truck on the market. You want rough? Try a Cup car or a GT3.

Why not take it back to the dealer and have them check it out? A bunch of guys on a public forum can't diagnose it remotely when we have this little information.

Did you have the old one in 2003? If you did, remember your ass is 11 years older now too.

You are correct. I have driven 4 or 5 5th gen limited 4runners and they all definitely ride stiffer than my 2003 sr5. They kind of annoy me as I like a smoother ride.

Going from an early 80s Cadillac to any year 4 Runner is like going from a Honda Goldwing to a hard-tail Harley.
It might take awhile to get use to it.
Yes, many, many times. The problem is, everything drives like crap right after a BMW.
With exception to a BMW with runcraps (run flats).

That's an RS7, 110hp more than the S7. So to your point -absolutely not for puttering about.

Go drive a Wrangler (no offense if there are any Wrangler owners) and then you're 4runner will feel like velvet!
Better yet, I drove my buddies Defender 90. That car makes the 4runner feel like a Lexus LS460, although I'd take the D90 any day over an LS460

I totally ignore the gas mileage in the 4runner, that wasn't the point or even on the list when I bought it.
I bought my 4runner cause I wanted one again regardless of anything negative and exactly how I wanted it and to hell with the warden and "I am sick of silver vehicles". that's why she has her nautical blue metallic Tacoma v6 dcab and I have my silver 4runner.
