2014 T4R Auto Door Locks

I'm trying to find some information in the owners manual or online, but I'm not finding what I want...

Does anyone know if the feature is available to automatically lock the truck after exiting the vehicle and closing all the doors?

Basically, I want to know whether or not the truck will lock itself if I forget to.

nope since the SR5/SR5p and TE/TEp are based on the same system and use an actual key.

that would work if you had the smart key system, not so well with a key and all the absent minded people besides us

On ignition/acc off, 30 second delayed relay would send a pulse to the keyless receiver module.

Would probably be as simple as that as far as the theory goes.

Does anyone know the wiring schematic/colors for the module? Is it a + or - system?

There are a couple of ways to trigger the factory alarm arm function...I think you can either: ground pulse the sensor inside the driver's side door key hole (it detects when you turn and hold the key to lock and unlock the cylinder), or ground pulse the factory alarm arm signal. Both of these ways work on my 2012, and might possibly work on your 2014 too.

If you do figure out a device to trigger the signal, I suggest you make it 30 seconds after the last door closes; unless you hop out of your truck at lightning speeds all the time, 30 seconds after you turn off the ignition might be cutting it close, lol.

I could use a relay to detect the ignition is off, then another to switch when the lights go off (or start to fade as it would be a 12v relay that would probably click as soon as they begin to fade). Then i wouldn't really need to use a delayed relay.

Sorry, I've only used those factory wires to install my aftermarket alarm, so I've not done exactly what you are attempting to do. I've had my eye on this module for other purposes, but have never gotten around to picking one up to play with hands-on: http://www.pac-audio.com/PACProductData/TR7/1_Instructions/tr-7_instructions_010505.pdf

It seems like it might be able to accomplish what you want? Maybe you can read up on them a bit more and see if it might be programmed to output the delay signal like you are wanting?

If I use the dome supervision wire, I'll need just one relay. Once that turns off, the relay will pulse the alarm arm wire in the door panel.

That sounds like a plan but make sure it's just a pulse and not a constant ground on the arm wire. If you keep the signal grounded it might do funky things to the truck (ie. try to roll up you windows, if you have that feature enabled through techstream). Another thing that comes to mind is, if you keep it constantly grounded, I am not sure if it will interfere with your remote fob when you try to unlock it later...good luck, please post results when you're done

The part I listed wants a constant ground, but will only send a 0.8sec pulse once.

Are there any other triggers you can think of using that register when the doors close?

While it's a neat idea. This seems like a great way to lock your keys in the truck. Wouldn't just getting into the routine of leaving the truck you press the button work just as well without the hassle of tapping into the vehicles wiring system?
