2014 TE On Order!

So ... I've got a 2014 TE on order. I don't have a build date yet, but they claim the order should be in. Should be a Magnetic Gray with KDSS. I'm really looking forward to it and driving everyone nuts with it! Of course, I looked the other day and it appears the dealer should have zero financing right now ... and they've got a '13 TE Premium with KDSS on the lot in black ... my impatience might get the better of me there ...

I feel your pain, I have a 14 TE on order that should be here in a couple week (god I hope i'm tired of waiting). Wait for the 14 unless you can get a great deal on the 13.

Hey man, I did the same exact thing, even the same exact colour w/KDSS. I waited my time, and bong! It was here before I knew it:

The interior of the 2014 TE Premium is so freakin fine; I actually like the inside as much as the outside. Take my word for it, worth waiting for + hang in there!

I ordered my 2014 TE w/KDSS on Oct 26. No confirmed build date as of this post. They only confirmation I've received is that Toyota has approved and accepted the allocation request. Dealer said he won't know when it's supposed to be here till the vehicle is 3 weeks out from port arrival. Patience isn't much of a problem for me right now. Auditor busy season is starting to ramp up, and I still have my trusty truck that I've had since I was 16 to get me where I need to go. Toyota is just giving me more time to save up cash. That's the way I choose to look at it though.

The only words of encouragement i can offer is that I actually never got a build either. The dealer kept talking about it, but then suddenly I just got a call and they said "eta one week and its here lets talk numbers."

same here, allocation was accepted on 25-sep, once in a while i would check with the dealer and no update, then bam, it showed up in port on the 13-nov with an estimated dealer delivery on 26-nov.

Ha ha. You know, I do know there will be some mods, but I'm not sure where to start yet. I read through Antman's build thread and found all kinds of ideas. I really don't know where to start, though! Either way, I'm really excited. The possibility of zero percent and a '13 TE Premium that they can't get rid of, though ... So tempting ... Although, it's black.

As for the place with zero percent, search for a 4Runner near 43614 and look for Jim White Toyota. As they don't have anything on their own site about zero percent, I do wonder whether it could be wrong.

So where should I start with some mods? And it's great to hear some of you guys are enjoying your new ones!

I noticed that some of you sounded like you ordered one - then talked numbers when it arrived. I made the deal, signed the contract and put $2000.00 down before they ordered it. Is that not the common practice?

I definitely talked price first. If I could get the financing going right now to lock in 0% before the vehicle is even here, I'd even do that. I just know that the question of financing and rates is a pretty big price difference when all is said and done. I'd say talking money first sounds smarter ...

Follow your T4

Don't get too anxious, wait and get the one you ordered and wanted.

After stating the above, I live close enough to go to the shipyard and tried to watch the ship unload when mine came in. Saw the ship, but not the unloading and met a security guard. Guess I was anxious too.

I was able to track my T4 as it came across on the ship. The dealer order showed that it was on the New Century 1. I used this link:

I noticed that some of you sounded like you ordered one - then talked numbers when it arrived. I made the deal, signed the contract and put $2000.00 down before they ordered it. Is that not the common practice?

I did the same as you, but put down 500... Some dealers offered no deposit and 6 week delivery, but they would not come down far enough on their price. So needless to say, I went for the cheaper alternative.

Yeah, I got a price first also. Sorry if I was misleading there. "Let's talk dollar signs" would have been a better way to put it because it was at that point that they asked if I wanted to pay cash or finance it.

I did it all over the phone + actually I gave the dealership my cc info and expected them to charge a deposit to the card, but they never did. I think hereabouts they need a PIN number entered to actually charge you, but this is my 3rd new vehicle from them so I guess they just took it on faith.

So yeah ... planning on sticking with the 2014. Sounds like it was, indeed, an error and there was not zero financing. I'm really excited to get it! Now I wait and do that "saving more for a bigger down payment" thing previously mentioned.
