Kidding aside, the senior/elite members on this forum are what makes it great. Always good info from a lot of the guys on here. Sharing info, busting balls profusely, and having fun is what I like about the forum. That, and discovering @NotStifler every time he's banned for hurting feelings, haha. I don't always agree with everyone's opinions, and mine are probably often shitty as well, but that's what makes a forum useful....open discussion between the like-minded. Not to sound too elitist, but there's way too many juniors here puffing chests lately. Annoying.

While so many threads turn into poop, and are absurd to read, I think these messes are often (sometimes?) beneficial at keeping people on their toes. That posts are questioned and not taken as gospel often leads to more detailed explanations and accurate info. If only we could reach that point without the BS.

I am not saying I have a dog in this fight and I see some debate that got a little personal on both sides, but I do find a little humor when the good old boys network starts in motion here in the 5th gen forum. ;-)
And for all you know, maybe I agree with 99.9% of what you post as do many others. Maybe not. But you are sort of alienating a lot of people when you basically say "These are the 7 people who know what they are talking about. The rest of you suck." ;-)
LOL! Toyota is so thoughtful to ease impact to a pedestrian who bounces off your hood.
I bet the skid plates are to keep from wrinkling the pedestrians clothes in the event they go under rather than over.

Agree on first point, on the second, well, I do suck. Readily admit every single idea and mod on my truck was stolen from others who did it and posted it. I'd still be driving a stock truck if it weren't for those jerks. :suspicious:
Not to mention I am the perfect example proving that it doesn't take any real knowledge to be a senior member on the site, I just can't shut up sometimes.
My hood didn't flutter at all on the drive home today, never made it over 30mph, damn traffic. Stop moving to Denver people!

Honestly I wrote down 7 of the ones that came to my head and then I realized that I would have to post EVERYONE'S name to Mention it... after which I said "**** that..." :smash: But, yes... technically you're correct; assuming my peers can correctly read. :bounce:
Has less to do with Toyota and more to do with European and American safety standards that mandate a set height/shape/ect. in case a pedestrian is hit head-on.
But Toyota was nice to install skid plates so the clean-up is easier when you run people over!

I noticed it on the ride home from the dealership, but it didn't bother me much since then. Keep your eyes on the road
I keep my eyes everywhere... my other ride is a BMW s1000rr (cycle) so it's a habit to notice everything that moves!!! ha!

It's that these threads play out every few weeks with predictable results, usually ending with
"they don't build them like they used to"
"I spent x amount of money on a Toyota and don't want the hood to flex"
"you morons are dumb for not caring if your hood flexes"

"this is a design feature in case you see Marcellus Wallace and have to run his ass down in front of a pawn shop"
Much butthurt and bans ensue.
It's not even that people ask the same questions, they get predictably pissed off when they get answers they don't want to hear.

Ok reading lots of stuff on here. Everything from welding more supports to dynamat. I have a white 15 sr5p. It's an amazing truck. Just rolled 11k in 6 months. But, the hood flex is crazy. I want to know in short what really works? Is it a warranty issue? I don't wanna spend money on anything.
